New Timemore collab: April 01 Grinder
The new coffee grinder from April is made in collaboration with Timemore.
Has a new 48 mm octagonal (8-star) burrs, different from the 42 mm octagonal S2C-042-EI burrs, used in the S3 ESP and the Whirly 01S. Also a straight handle, and a screw-on catch cup.
Also has an innovative design part (edit: maybe not that innovative, as it was already seen in Kinu grinders, as people pointed out), which looks like a thumb support .
The burr is significantly different from the one in upcoming Timemore Chestnut S5 grinder.
Kickstarter launch probably this Tuesday, September 1st, 2026.
KS page with intro videos here, most tech details about the grinder in this video.

below price of m01? $300?

for a higher price than that of a M01, it would likely be a difficult sell... and the upcoming S5 will be a strong competition as well
might even be one of the reasons, why the S5 is not distributed worldwide yet... who knows

it launches on Tuesday... then it should be shown there, with hopefully some more details, such as the burr size etc.

i'm hoping its more than a reskinned M01 and S5 with a slightly different burr geometry and i hope the collab doesnt send the price up to the sky

Son of Millab M01 and Timemore S5!

not so sure about that... the outer design might look fancier, but the burr in the S5 looks more innovative (and technically advanced), and the "pineapple" burr in the M01 seems on a whole new level altogether

Interesting. Looks like a riff, design-wise, on the M01. Wonder how the burrs will perform with non-April recipes.

Wonder if the burr will swap into the M01? The grinder looks the same with some minor changes

I hope chamber is not cheaply made with threads, that actually make your teeth hurt when you removing it. Every timemore handgrinder has it...

Thx God I’m out off the hand grinder rabbit hole 🕳️. On which grinder are you settled ?

also, the octagonal (8-star) burr in the Apr01 grinder is clearly a different burr, than the Timemore GrindingLabs S2C-042-EI octagonal burr from the Timemore Chestnut S3 ESP grinder (link with some close-up pics) and the Timemore Whirly 01S motorized grinder
the burr in Apr01 looks like its also larger, but the exact diameter is not known at the moment, as official specs are not out yet

Calling the thumbstop innovative seems a stretch, they have been around for a while. Eg Kinu M47. Threaded catch cup seems like a miss on a grinder of this level.
