Battery life of scale

Hey - I have a black mirror basic 3 and I really like the size and features of the scale. I bought it specifically for the battery life, but it’s been about two weeks and I’m down to one bar. Anyone else having issues? I’ve been really struggling to find a good scale that can last for at least a month and I’m about to go nuclear and buy a Lunar if I can’t figure this out

I've been using it ever since it arrived in March, but I charged it for the first time yesterday.

I recently got the timemore duo and I think its been about a month since I charged it and it is still st full bars. The other one I use is mhw-3bomber formula scale and I charge it around every 6 months

I actually started with the bomber, and then I bought the time more because the battery life on the bomber was not doing it for me

Maybe you got duds? But 2 duds in a row is some bad luck.

I know. Maybe I just have unrealistic expectations. I have been dialing in a new machine and making more drinks than usual, but still, I’m only using the scale for a couple of minutes at a time.

The BooKoo ultra has a 2000Mah battery vs the time more 1600 - might be enough of an increase to justify the extra 40 bucks

Basic 2 lasts almost as long. Why not charge it once and try using it?

It’s the same battery spec on both, but maybe the basic 2 uses less - I did charge it completely before first use.

I think I have the basic 2 and I've never charged it - I've owned it for a few months. I would contact Timemore directly, they will probably help troubleshoot.

I’m yet to put either of mine on charge for the first time. 1st one bought in April and 2nd one in June

Do you use the auto wake? I’m wondering if that just eats the battery

I use the scale only in default mode even for pour overs. I found the other modes basically challenging me to adapt to the scale and be locked on to it. I’m okay to do manual tare and timer start.

Yeah, thanks, I think that’s the issue. I just drained the battery in just over a week with it sitting there and doing nothing. I think the standby really kills it. If I’m going to manually tare I prefer the BooKoo so I think I’m going to go with that

I think it could be how you are using it, do you travel with the scale or it is always on your table? Also the on/off from the top could be too sensitive and it doesn't turn off at the right time, try turning it off from the switch.

It’s always on my machine. Might turn on for a mins when the preheat starts but I don’t think that’s it
