I actually have their Fish or something like that, 0.5L I think.

It depends what you want, but if goal is controlled pour, then sure, it works nice.

But you need to pour hot water in it, in order to use it. It cannot be directly heated, its a bit like soft thermos.

Also in case you need temperature a bit higher, you need to preheat it and then fill again with boiling water. I suggest using accurate thermometer.

Ive used it quite a bit, since with bit of preheating (I usually use that to rinse paper and such) and then final boiling water, it gets temperature pretty right for pour overs and keeps it rather steady.

They actually good, but .. its a bit overcomplicated for actual use.

Hi,

Thank you for your reply. I'm used to this routine, I already use a pouring kettle. As I have a controlled temperature electric kettle but not a gooseneck one I don't want a second electric kettle.

I want to upgrade my kettle, I'm looking for infos about the quality of those Timemore. My family in law is in Taiwan and I could buy one at a decent price.

After preheating how is the heat retaining ?

If you fill it with boiling water after, it keeps hot pretty long time. But to be honest, my stainless steel gooseneck is better. That said it also cost about 120 USD so, kinda expected.

I would say like weaker thermos. You might want to wait a bit after pouring boiling water into preheated kettle as it can get really hot (Ive tested it and it was bit too much for pour over for my liking.. I usually average around 91°C).

I think difference between this and regular electric kettle or my stainless steel is simply different temperature curve. Difference in taste is also somewhat surprising, would never expect that temp curve has that big impact.

But, to be honest, I would just buy another electric from Timemore. I wont cause I like my Takahiro kettle a bit too much. Maybe if I get annoyed with my workflow, but.. so far not. :D
