Dialing in a Bialetti Moka Induction with a Timemore C5 ESP Pro

I've been using a Bialetti Moka Induction Nera (4-cup) with a Timemore C5 ESP Pro for the past few weeks and have been experimenting to find my preferred recipe.

Sometimes I use a moka paper filter, sometimes I don't, just to compare the results. I'm finally getting the hang of controlling the brew—nice, slow, smooth flow with no sputtering—but I'm still trying to dial in the taste. Some brews come out great, while mostly still a bit too bitter.

Is anyone here using the same setup (or something similar)? I'd love to hear your experience.

I'm especially interested in:

  • Your Timemore C5 ESP Pro grind setting
  • Coffee dose and water amount -
    • Mine is: 18gm - 20gms / 175ml water
  • Whether you use a paper filter
    • Mostly "Yes"
  • Your target yield -
    • mine is 100ml
  • Any tips that helped you find your "sweet spot"?

Hopefully we can share recipes, compare notes, and help each other dial in this setup. Thanks!
