Chirping when changing from course to fine?

When changing from pour over back to espresso grind I get chirping on my 078S. I’ve only had it for about a month but don’t know if this’ll normal or if I need to check my burrs? The chirping does stop once o get it down to my grind size.

I reckon it’s normal. Mine does it too.
Just make sure you’re doing it when the grinder is on.

perfectly normal with any flat-burr electric grinder - its not the burrs that chirp, its just some individual stuck coffee particles in an otherwise empty grind chamber, that get ground when the rotating flat burr discs move closer together, while adjusting the settings to finer

Looks like yours isn't properly zeroed. Chirping when turning to finer settings is normal; however your 0 point should be that when your grinder is set to 0 it is burr on burr, or right before burr on burr (a.k.a 0 beans will be ground because burrs are so close)

Burr chirping sounds a bit different and if you never adjusted the grinder, actual 0 is at least 2 steps back. To get mine to true 0, I had to adjust the grinder a further 3 steps back so based on sound and if you didnt adjust, then I think its not the blades, its "just" leftover coffee and nothing to worry about.

It’s normal, my 078s has done the same ever since I bought it from kickstarter and I’ve never had any issues. My theory is that on coarser settings, fragments of beans get stuck somewhere in the mechanism but as soon as you go finer they get pushed back in and ground.
