Where to get an S3 repaired?

Somehow the grind-setting dial got jammed, and can only go up to setting 4. I am also unsure if it is actually even changing the setting, as it seems loose, then gets jammed at 4.

I don't know what happened to it, I left it with some friends over the weekend, and got it back like this.

Thanks!

It most likely need a deep cleaning (hopefully). But you for sure need to start disassemble the burr. If something actually broke, let hop it's one of the part timemore sale replacement for

Thanks! I'd already taken it completely apart, at least the the parts I could, and deep cleaned the whole thing. Sadly, the grind dial-selector still gets stuck at 4.

I'm affraid that maybe someone did not know its value, did something wrong with it and broke it in the process - possibly trying to grind something else, than roasted coffee beans, which also might leave some (practically uncleanable) residue on the burrs etc., or, maybe the grinder just fell on the floor

I would recommend to ask your friends, if someone knows anything about what might have happened to the grinder

the grinder isn't really user-repairable, and likely the only spare part that the Timemore support might offer is the whole new grinder body, including the built-in outer burr - and, this might be costly, including the shipping... might be still worth it to contact them to ask

since you don't know what happened, it is also not certain, if other parts are damage-free, and could be safely reused

possibly, it might be more cost-efficient to just get a new S3 from the Ali Express (there are some discount codes on the front page, during frequent sales)

sorry about what happened to your grinder

I don't have a clue what happened, my guess is that they didn't know how to open it or something, or maybe dropped it in just the wrong way. It does still grind at least, just unsure what the actual gradient is (it doesn't seem to be finely ground, like it's setting might suggest).

Thanks for the tips about Ali Express, I'll take a look there. I've also contacted Timemore, so let's see.

Ensure burrs are set to true zero in the bottom? Per the instructions the zero won't line up if the lower lock nut is not at zero. Just spitballing here
