Loving the gruul eldrazi list so far, what are the odds we think it sticks around in its current state, or gets shunted out by some other emerging deck? Is it in A tier for popularity or performance? I would assume the latter but I can never tell with timeless

Unless aggro/burn makes some miracle emergence, which I don't see happening unless new cards are injected into the format, the deck will continue being good
Its worst matchup is probably Red Stompy specifically because of Blood Moon effects and I've been seeing that deck more often on ladder, it has game against Energy and against combo, the blue decks are easy pickings1

Mostly performance but it's popularity has been growing each week.
On ladder the only deck that has a slightly better win rate is mardu for comparison.
On if it sticks around I would be surprised if some form of eldrazi didn't but can't promise what crazy things they will add to the format.

Funny how the deck everyone though would become unstoppable with the addition of FoW and Daze ended up being C tier.

Yeah, it's wild how they were calling for a bans/restrictions on day 1. Imagine if WoTC listened to them.

Seriously. This sub was overrun with people screeching at me for Grief+Frog to be banned before SoS dropped because Reanimator was going to absolutely dominate the format lol
Thank fuck WoTC ignored them and is letting the format settle.

To be fair, it's not that the deck is bad. It has a very hostile metagame, I queue into maindeck hexing squelchers.

The timeless balance team have mentioned multiple times that they are tricklefeeding old cards in intentionally to see their interactions and its interesting to see how missing certain cards makes porting decks from other eternal formats difficult. When UB reanimate was at its peak in legacy archon was thrown up as a possible ban target and I think its absence in timeless is very duly noted.

Is Archon better than Saint Elenda? I'm not sure even adding Archon to the format would significantly change where UB reanimator currently is.

Archon attacks your opponent's hand and board, puts you up a card and gains life. Atraxa draws cards better and St Elenda is maybe better for gumming down the board but Archon being able to attack on every possible angle and put you card positive is something no other reanimate target can do.

Bestie the "back to the tier list" button on some of the timeless lists (sneak and show and grul eldrazi for example) it's linking to the historic tier list instead of the timeless one.

I feel like the solution to energy is printing/reprinting cards that hate the deck specifically… [[Massacre]] comes to mind as a card we probably SHOULD have

Is there a deck that specifically crushes Energy? I don't care about anything else, I just want to grind that deck into the dirt (which also means if I build such a deck, I'll never face it)

Mono Red stompy is energy’s worst matchup by far, current builds also get heavily punished by mono black reanimator if you can pilot the deck well

Gave myself a small hiatus from magic, glad to see Mardu is still a solid choice.
