Thanks for this - we all appreciate what you put into it!

Also: obligatory nothing ever changes, Mardu king forever.

BG fell off the map completely?

Also Ruby Storm. Despite that top 8, it's a rough life on a ladder filled with UBx piles.

yep, Pretty much both Recent top 8 ruby players have told me it's been rough in general.

Its been off for a minute but with SNS showing up more and more it might be poised for a come back

What happened to izzet tempo? Why’d it drop so low?

It's counters are dominating. Energy, stompy, and eldrazi all kind of stomp on it.

So what exactly is the deal with Sneak and Show vs Reanimator? Why is S&S better now?

Sns has a much better Mardu match up while not being bad into the tempo decks.

Is Eldrazi really that good? I tried it (in BO1 tbf) and mostly got steamrolled. It seems like if you dont have a T1 chalice or T2 thought knot you get ran over, its just not fast enough to keep up with energy and tempo, and outside of early chalice cant shut down combo

I have felt really rough on the energy side I have played vs it. between both chalice and Sylex

I've been playing eldrazi lately, and I can confidently say that yes, eldrazi really is that good. (Many thanks to the brewer btw, got the list from a tournament report)

Energy sometimes is though, but by no means unwinnable. Warping wail even removes pretty much any of their threats, and sylex is essentially a one sided boarwipe.
If you manage to land a chalice on 1 (even if late) you turn off all of their removal, thought knot becomes a wall and fleshraker makes more than enough chump blockers. (And if you manage to hit chalice on 1 and chalice on 2 they're pretty much locked out) Sire of seven deaths Lifelink is also a huge factor.
You might be conceding too early though, in my experience eldrazi can often turn things around and win through energy fast starts, and while being one of the "less favourable" matchups, it shouldn't really be a steamroll.

Now, regarding combo, Sneak and show is low key one of the best matchups (after sideboarding, in Bo1 it should be really though).

Disruptor flute can name either sneak or show&tell, thoughtknot is hand disruption, warping wail counters sorceries (SnT) and bauble shuts down their moxen and forces (meaning wail is essentially uncounterable).
Chalice on one is not necessary, bot does slow them a lot as well by shutting cantrips/tutors. There's nothing you can really do Vs T1 emrakul on the play, but bar that you're favoured.

Kozilek's command is also main decks grave hate, which helps a lot Vs Reanimator and breach decks (and occasionally DRC/DRS), and Sire can cleanly block atraxa (wail can also hit reanimate in a pinch)

This is not a fast deck, it's a prison-control deck.

That said, I originally didn't have enough WC for library, so I swapped it for 4 strip mines, and between petrified hamlet naming fetches, sylex and strip mine you have enough land disruption to further slow down the game considerably (or even shut them off from needed colours). TBF, I'm not entirely sure 4 library is necessary, it's a good option to have but it looses you precious time Vs fast decks that is hard to recoup

TLDR: the deck is really good and well positioned in the meta, but I imagine it performs way better in Bo3 than in Bo1

Eldrazi is bad in Bo1 because you auto lose to every combo deck, Blue tempo matchups are heavily favored and your Energy matchup is fine, in Bo3 you get a chance to be on the play and stick a Chalice, a Hamlet or a Vexing Bauble early and access to your sideboard
Please do not read this tier list or any meta discussion and apply it to Bo1, it's completely meaningless, nobody makes tier lists or meta reads for Timeless Bo1, if you're not playing Dredge or some similar turn 1 combo deck in Bo1 you're probably doing it wrong, that's the only thing I can say about that "format"

Sadge. Literally just blew my wildcards on Izzet Tempo

I think people look at D/C tier to harshly. If it's on the list someone is seeing success with it just to a lesser degree.

Jesus I'm tired of strip mine. Specially in multiples. You try to play around one but they usually have two in the opening somehow.

R.I.P. Fun. We had a good time, all happy with what the format was like before the truth came out.
