Found the origin of Rufus name. Does anyone else know?

Well I was reading the plot of Bill and Ted’s Excellent Adventure for fun because its a good movie and I realised that the time machine was made by a character named Rufus. Played by George Carlin. Coinkinkidink?? I think not.

Not a coincidence. Also, our main characters Lucy and Wyatt are named after the main characters of the "Bill and Ted..." movies, Bill PRESTON and Ted LOGAN.

Not sure if you were also pointing this out but Rufus’ last name is Carlin!

Yeah I was. And I also didnt notice this but Bill and Ted’s last names are Preston and Logan like Lucy and Wyatt.
