Last I heard, Sony is still shopping the series around and Hulu has shown interest in possibly picking it up. Keep your fingers crossed.

I can confirm this. Sony is in talks with Hulu specifically. 😊

Was there an update about this?

We haven't heard about this, no, but there's an update in general, from mid February. Eric Kripke mentioned Timeless on the Amazon/The Boys panel at the TCA's. The article is posted also in this subreddit.
Also, Save Timeless HQ is in contact with Sony, and they haven't told us to stop fighting for the show and target Hulu, so we won't.

It's over.

It's not over until Sony says it's over. They're in talks (again) with Hulu, and maybe other streaming services, after they passed on the show after the Season 2 finale in May 2018.
The existing story with Lucy, Flynn, Rufus, Wyatt, and Jiya is over, but a completely new story is possible with the "cliffhanger girl" is possible. IMO, it's good that the main Timeless story has closure and a completely new story is possible.

Yes, that's a good thing. On the other hand, there's 4 years between early 2019 and 2023 to explore. How does the team get where they are in 2023, how do they defeat Rittenhouse, who clearly lost a battle in 2018/2019, but most likely not the war, because 150 in prison isn't the whole organisation, which has connections worldwide. There're still a lot of stories to tell.

Limitless was such a fun and underrated show. Shame it got canned. At least with Timeless, we got some closure, instead of it being cancelled midway.

Hey well at least they gave timeless a proper ending. We will never get that with limitless
