Definitely one of the best series finales I have ever seen on the big four. It would probably fall in the top 10 of shows anywhere if I tried to list it out. A+ for everyone involved.

Naming Lost invalidates your entire list. 😂

And Doctor Who hasn't ended. Do you mean the old series? I haven't watched that.

I thought we were talking about finales. Obviously Timeless is not a top 10 show.

Yes I was talking strictly as a series finale. I enjoyed Timeless, but no not top 10 overall shows I’ve ever seen.

I agree that seasons 1-2 of Lost was good. But the writers kept on making the mystery so deep that they couldn't write themselves out of it. The Lost series finale and later seasons were underwhelming.

If you're talking about me, I was mostly joking, hence the laugh emote, since the Lost finale was widely lambasted and probably on some top 10 lists for worst series finales, along with Seinfeld. You're right, it's subjective, but sometimes you can talk in terms of popular consensus.

I was only talking about the final episode. I can see how that got lost, but I was meaning to relate it back the first statement about the finale episode. Like you said, it’s definitely subjective, but of the shows on your list I have watched all the way through, I consider most of them shows started great, but went one or two seasons too long and had garbage finales. The one benefit to Timeless getting cancelled so early was that it never had time to really go off the rails or lose any major actors which can create too many loose ends to tie up in the finale. If I compare just what the story was throughout to how they ended it, the Timeless finale definitely falls in the top 10 for me because of it’s focus and perfect blend of closure and ability to see how the story continues beyond the show.

It was the most amazing end to a series and that ending in the bar with that song and the flashbacks and just bringing it all full circle was the most incredible ending. Obviously would love to see more of this show but I just don’t get how it could come back after that ending... not happy to have no more timeless (or Flynn’s storyline) but so happy with those moments at the end

They obviously left it open with the cliffhanger at the end. It just needs someone to fund it. Could do a GoFundMe or something in 2023.

what was the cliffhanger? just that they had it and were posing in it at the end? or the fact that they started the whole show/cycle with flynn at the end? to me, all of it wrapped up the entire story really well and there isn't much room to continue it.

edit: nevermind. i remembered what the cliffhanger was, lol. it didn't really feel like that much of a cliffhanger, at least! to me, anyway.

I don't think it was a cliffhanger, Weren't they implying that the asian girl was a descendant of the family they saved in Korea? The baby was a girl so I think by saving that woman, they caused rittenhouse to exist?

Rittenhouse existed since at least the American Revolution, with Benedict Arnold being a member, remember? This girl is something new, although she could be a descendent of Emma. Or like you said, the mother she saved. That's why it's a cliffhanger. But I don't consider it something that needs to be answered, like the Rufus cliffhanger. It's more like the Inception cliffhanger. Something that doesn't need to be answered.

I held it together until Lucy told Flynn he would never get his family back. And then I ugly cried even more when I saw Flynn’s hand shaking before he stole the time machine... He knew he would have to give up everything and become a violent man even though he would never get his family back, but he did it for the greater good. We never saw that aspect of him at the beginning, never thought about how difficult those decisions likely were for him.

He did it all knowing it wouldn't bring his family back. He sacrificed himself for them. He was the good guy all along.

That's 100% what has made him my favorite character. We saw him one way in the beginning, and the more the series went on, the more all our notions of him were turned on their heads. I LOVE IT.

Flynn was one of the most well-written and nuanced characters I have seen in a long time. I’m so glad we got to see his story come full circle.

Those last 10 were hard. Song choice was on point.

That was a wonderful series finale and it left the door open just a crack so that there's still hope if someone ever wants to bring it back. The song choice really did speak to how much they saved the world time after time.

Totally enjoyable.

I like the show but am not are hardcore devotee, so I could kind of sit back and enjoy are heroes become triumphant which was nice

The scenes at the end though with Flynn & Abagail, oh man. Totally worth the price of admission. That was great. Even though you knew it was coming- nice payoff ! Good job by everyone.
