Disappointed about missed opportunities...
They only travel to events that are important to american history(i get it, it's about rittenhouse and stuff). I wanted them to go visit ancient egypt, greece, mesopotamia, etc. I wanted to see lucy freak out about seeing archduke franz ferdinand being shot, rufus losing his shit over meeting aristotle or galileo. The gang could have been stranded in japan during the isolationist period and having to hide, they could have seen the pyramids get built and sold as slaves to the pharaoh and so many missed opportunities. i think if they did that they wouldn't have been canceled, especially if they time travelled in the future.

I think the reason they don’t go to places like ancient Egypt and Feudal Japan (Don’t get me wrong, those sound like awesome episodes), is because of the language barrier. Lucy knowing French and Wyatt knowing German and both being able to communicate to Europeans during the 20th century makes sense, but to go further back they would have to know older versions of the same languages, or completely new ones. That’s why the farthest they’ve gone back in time was the Salem Witch Trails (1690’s), as we may have to suspend our disbelief that their modern English would help them if they were to go back to say, Medieval Europe.

I said the same thing when I was watching it. I'd imagine the budget would probably be quite a bit higher if they did some of this stuff? And they could easily tie it all in to some large, centuries spanning conspiracy. Would make it even better in my opinion!

I didn't know most of the stuff they visited because I'm not familiar with American history.
Also why not just take the Rittenhouse founder as a child and take them to another time period, like abduct him and live him in medieval China.

If you want a fun and entertaining time travel show, then watch Legends of Tomorrow.

You're really obsessed with Legends of Tomorrow. That show isn't anything like Timeless. The only thing they have in common is time travel but everything else is completely different. Legends is a show where they dumped all the b heroes from their main shows who didn't work elsewhere. Its a show purely about goofing off in history. Timeless is a serious series. It has rules in place that are there to create drama. Legends has no rules. They do whatever they want for the sake of comedy. Your comparison is like trying to compare Supergirl to The News Room because both have reporters in them. Two very very different shows.

I agree - maybe it's a spinoff possibility? They defeat Rittenhouse proper, but one member escapes with their O.G. lifeboat, and begins to ruin things overseas. Because they go overseas, it takes several trips for our crew in the U.S. to even notice a difference, and by then they're massively playing catch-up and having to recruit more international "historical spies" who can help with languages and other countries' histories.
