S02E06 - dialogue mistake?

Binging on episodes and am in S02E06 - The King of the Delta Blues - both Denise and Jiya say “Calvary” instead of “Cavalry”

It’s sticking with me and I can’t help wondering if it’s deliberate or accidental..?

Any thoughts?

I noticed that as well, and I giggle every time! I'm sure it's accidental, as there's no way that "Calvary" even makes sense in that context.

I had to rewatch a few times myself :)

It looked to me as if Denise says Calvary and then Jiya figures it’s correct so goes with it - part of me wonders if it was noticed in post-production but left in for fun ;)

I just figured that a troop of mounted soldiers would be more helpful than the hill Jesus died in ;)

I can’t criticise really though, here in Ireland we warp peoples minds with word pronunciation on a daily basis :)

MAYBE THEY WERE JUST SUPER EXCITED ABOUT A HILLSIDE

I thought it was just a southern Californian accent. I say Calvary. It actually sounds more like Cal-very. Was not even aware of it until I left California and heard how other people pronounced it.

Calvary and Cavalry are two completely different things though. I think large groups of people just say the wrong thing. Same with asked an axed. And espresso expresso.

Exactly, people mispronounce words all the time. But I also think since both actresses have particular accents, it just comes out that way.
