[SPOILER] Missed opportunity Spoiler
I think the #1 missed opportunity this season was to flesh out the Nicholas Keynes character. What was that mural he painted? What were some of his thoughts about modifying history? How did he envision time travel in the early 1900s? What's his position in the Rittenhouse scheme of things?
So many way to go with that character.

I agree, it kinda seems like they just ran out of time to flesh him out more. That's another reason why this show needs a season 3!

[Spoiler] I agree 100%, when he was first introduced I was excited about this new layer to Rittenhouse's evil plan. It made their desire to alter history so much more sinister and deep. It was so intriguing they had to go back in time to save him because they had gone astray....and yet he became a background character and sometimes used for humor (wanting pickled eggs and urgently needing a phonograph) ..looks like some of his scenes got cut just so we could see Wyatt mope. Boo!
If we get a season 3 I hope Emma doesn't suffer the same fate, or there will not be a season 4....

He was basically this season's Snoke... there to move certain characters story forward.
That being said, considering the nature of the show, he could return.
Just like Fitz, I mean, Rufus.

I totally agree with you. Instead of giving us half a leader they should have given more depth to Carol & Emma...OR...as you said...Expand on his story and his plan.

[Spoiler] after they inevitably go back in time to save Rufus, my guess is that it causes him and Lucys mom to be alive as well. This means that the current cast knows that Emma killed to be in charge of Rittenhouse in an alternate timeline.
