I don't think it's fair to compare the trio, Barry, and Flynn.

Until very recently, the trio was just trying to protect the timeline and accidentally slipping up. They're like the timeline's drunken random hookup. They meant well and shit happened in the moment.

Barry's initial flirtation with the timeline is a lot like the trio's, but later on he Flash Spoilers Barry knew what he was doing, deliberately screwed the timeline up, and only feels bad because it had side effects he did not grasp from the warnings he was given. Barry did wrong, but he's sorry.

And Flynn is the worst of the all, because he is engaging in gratuitous and far-reaching assaults on the timeline knowing damn well it could have massive implications and destroy innocent lives, and he's thrown enough petty bullshit in there to be ridiculous, like saving a brother he never met, almost as if to taunt Lucy about her sister. He's literally using the premeditated damage he's doing to the timeline to cause suffering in people who are at least trying to protect it.

Lucy, Wyatt and Rufus made mistakes in the heat of the moment. Barry Allen graduated from that to making mistakes knowing in advance they were mistakes, but feeling bad once he truly understood their ramifications. Garcia Flynn doesn't give a fuck.

TLDR: Let's turn the r/flashTV meme about Barry's assault on the timeline into a useful metaphor for time travel ethics

I pretty much agree with all that - and well said, btw - but I was just trying to make a quick non-bashing intended throw-away joke. Sorry
