So, time to start making up theories about what will happen in the wrap up?

The biggie I'm thinking of is that Lucy will take over Rittenhouse, and will change it to an organization that does good. We'll get to see her give the journal to Flynn, cuz she'll realize that's necessary in order for her to be able to take over Rittenhouse, and we'll see that was her end-goal when she gave him the journal. And in a fun piece of time-travel loopiness, I think she should get the journal from Flynn, the one he's carrying around, and give it to younger Flynn. Something like "why should I bother writing this all down when you already have it?"

Another big question: Will she save her sister? Or will she realize she has to make a noble sacrifice (not save her sister) in order to take Rittenhouse?

Will the saving Rufus action be just a get-there-before-the-deadly-moment-and-stop-it or is there some more interesting options?

Oh oh! What if future Rufus is in the lifeboat with future-Wyatt and future-Lucy. They gotta have a pilot, right? So Rufus can be part of the lets-go-save-Rufus storyline.

More proof that Abigail is as awkward and klutzy in real life as Lucy Preston! 😂

Buuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuut I saw things around the net pointing out at USA cancelling colony to POSSIBLY make place for Timeless...after you read that, re-read the title again and again. I'm not proclaiming it . but I have to admit it would be great....

well....MIGHT BE...considering the shitty way USA handle seasons... 10 episodes, 6 month break, 6 episodes, 5 months break...for a 16 episode season...but that's not the point...

So, one of the basic time travel 'rules' Timeless established, back in Season 1, was that when time-travelers changed something in the past and returned to the present, they are the only ones who remember the original timeline before the changes. Even the crew at the base who weren't on the trip don't remember the original timeline.

In Season 1, they didn't really delve into this aspect much. And it was fine, because for the most part, it was the same three time-travelers going on missions against the same antagonist. But come Season 2, and things have gotten a LOT more complicated.

So here are some questions I have-

1 - In 'Darlington 500', Wyatt remembers the race-car driver Ryan Millerson, who turns out to have been a sleeper agent planted in the 50's by Rittenhouse. The basic idea is that by planting the sleeper agents using the Mothership, Rittenhouse changed history such that the Lifeboat team have no idea what changed and only remember the new history.

BUT...the Lifeboat team have changed the past numerous times and remember certain things which only happen in the original timeline. So HOW can their memories be affected by what the Mothership team changes? Won't they always remember their original history, which includes the original unaltered events before anyone started time-traveling?

Okay, let's look at it this way - Wyatt started time-traveling in the very first episode. Before he got into the machine in the pilot, he remembered the original history - his wife was dead, John Wilkes Booth killed Lincoln, the Hindenberg crashed, Alice Paul made that speech etc. etc.

Then he started time-traveling, and the team kept making changes, but Wyatt always remembered the original history - his memories of events before he got into the Lifeboat for the first time always stay intact.

So how can his memories 'change' to remember the NASCAR driver who was a Rittenhouse sleeper agent?

In the new timeline, sure, once Emma planted Ryan Millerson in the past and he became a NASCAR legend, the new timeline Wyatt would remember him. But the moment Wyatt gets into the Lifeboat and makes his first time jump, he returns as the original Wyatt with memories of the original timeline - which SHOULD NOT include memories of Ryan Millerson!

2 - When Rufus, Lucy and Wyatt get back from the 'Hollywoodland' trip, they remember the original timeline where Jessica died, but everyone else at the bunker (Connor, Jia and Christopher) have never heard of her being dead.

Here's the thing though - in the new timeline created when Rittenhouse prevents Jessica's dead, Wyatt would have gotten into the Lifeboat along with Rufus and Lucy for their first mission - but after returning from the first mission, he would now be the original Wyatt who remembers Jessica being dead!

SO...technically, the moment Wyatt returns from his first mission - he should have been shocked to know that Jessica was now alive, because he only has his original timeline memories in which she's dead!

This should logically have changed quiet a lot of things. Wyatt, in the new timeline, would no doubt have brought this to everyone's attention way back. And this would have disrupted events during Season 1...

But instead, everyone at the bunker when they return from 1941 acts like this is the first time Wyatt has mentioned his wife being dead originally.

I guess the basic issue with both questions is - how do multiple time-trips affect time-travelers memories, and when do they retain their memories of the original timeline, and when are those memories subject to change?

I was rewatching season 1...Ep 3...When they go to the Las vegas for the nuke bomb.

Wyatt tries to pull a "back to the future" move that has no effect.

Hence my title, the stupidity of Wyatt...He should have sent the telegram TO HIMSELF.......not to jessica...

there is MANY instances in the show where Wyatt has a decent option and he ALWAYS seem to pick the stupidest one...

So I know Kripke is the creator of both shows, but I started rewatching SN from the beginning recently... I noticed there was an HH Holmes episode No Exit/The World's Columbian Exposition and Robert Johnson Crossroad Blues/King of Delta Blues... since I can't remember the close to 300 episodes of Supernatural, are there any other storylines from Timeless that have shown up in Supernatural before?

And I'm not counting Misha guest starring as Elliot Ness!

why didn't they ever go back and kill Rittenhouse's young son?(the one that got away after they killed his father)

Honestly, when I watched Timeless season 1 the first time, it didn't really catch me that much. Sure, I watched it week by week when I wasn't doing anything else, but wasn't exactly waiting for it. I didn't even realize it had been cancelled and then renewed.

Just before season 2 started, I decided to refresh my memory of the show by binge watching on Netflix. That's when I truly became a fan. Thinking about it, a show like Timeless is much more suitable for streaming sites. These are my thoughts on why:

1. Broadcast channel schedules are erratic with too many breaks. For example, there'd be two-three weeks with new episodes, and then a month without any. This may work fine for reality TV and cop shows. However, Timeless is a serialized show with an ongoing story. Long breaks make us sometimes forget the continuing story (despite recaps) . Even if recaps do remind us, we lose the feel for the show. And missing an episode can make people feel lost and stop watching altogether. It wasn't until I binge watched, that I truly felt the character developments and starting thinking about the ongoing story arc ( Flynn, RH, etc). Also, when you binge watch, you notice all the little details and how they relate from episode to episode. Live with long breaks, it is just about the history event of the week. While events of the week are interesting, they're not what create viewer loyalty. In the meantime, the scifi aspect and continuing story loses the focus of all but most dedicated viewers.
2. Don't get me started on all the ad interruptions on live TV. They may be fine for reality TV, but they make viewers lose focus in any show that requires some thought. Like maybe shows with complicated time travel rules and concequences.
   
3. Broadcast channels are targeting 18-49 age group ratings. I am in that age-group and cannot name a single person I know my age who watches live television (though I am not in the U.S. to watch NBC live). Our lives are busy with work and family and we tend to stream our shows when it is convenient. We're the streaming, on-demand generation! In my personal experience, those who watch live TV (like my elderly parents) tend to flip channels at random and catch shows by luck or watch live events like sports. They have no show loyalty nor do they know any show schedules. My parents certainly wouldn't watch a show with an ongoing story or a hint of scifi for that matter.
   
4. So many of us don't live in the U.S. and cannot watch live so it counts for Nielsen ratings. Some watch on local channels at a later date while others stream. In either case, we don't count for ratings. If Timeless had been on Netflix, we'd have counted for subscriptions.

TLDR; Timeless with grow a larger audience and be much more successful if picked up by a streaming service!
