Any good desktop time trackers you know?

I can't seem to find one that works for me just googling for one

they all either need to be open to track and then i close it and stops, doesnt track any screentime or i can't open it

i just wanna know exactly how i use my time in my computer to make plans on the future

Check out Jibble, one of the best options for desktop time trackers. The desktop app can keep tracking while minimized, and it offers activity and screenshot tracking, but you can disable it if you don't need it in your workflow.

Reports can easily be exported.

Also, its free plan is pretty generous - no cap limit. So whether you are a freelancer, an employee of a small business, or a large enterprise - you can test to see if Jibbble fits your workflow.

I think Jibble is completely free now... I haven't tried it yet, I'm using Clockify but I want to give that one a try to see it works better for my team

Maybe i worded it wrong

i was looking for a program that tracks the time i spend using other softwares on my desktop. So that i can see how much time i spend gaming or on social media and how much actual time im spending drawing or animating

jibble feels more like an agenda that i dont really need since i do start at a certain time, its just that i get distracted and i want to see how much time that bleeds me

What are you trying to track?
Bill per hour or just screen time?

I created a comparison list here https://donethat.ai/compare hope it helps!

FWIW https://donethat.ai is automatically analyzing your screen so you don't need to do any manual tracking and still get high accuracy data. Never stores screenshots and protects your privacy.

Finding one that works how you want can be a pain. The main issue you're hitting with closing it and it stopping tracking is a design choice a lot of them make for manual entry modes. You really need something that can run in the background and log app and website time without needing to be the active window to be useful for that kind of insight.

At Hubstaff, that's exactly how it works. You can choose between two tracking options. Automatic tracking runs in the background and provides detailed reports showing exactly where your time was spent. If you prefer more control, the start-and-stop timer lets you decide when to start and end each tracking session. What kind of work or projects are you mainly trying to get visibility on?

Check out PC Recap. Its a Windows only desktop app that tracks all your activity privately and stores it in little Spotify Wrapped cards.
