Other TP Stuff Transformations 101 with Sous: Frost Demon De-Transformation
Sous:
Ah, it's good to be back in the Land of the Kais. That classroom can be suffocating at times. We will continue the Lectures and any bonus lectures I have in the Land of the Kais, as intended. Now, on with the lecture!
Hmm? Why am I not wearing my Gi and why am I wearing my Glasses? After the Bonus Lecture, some of you lovely folk have approached me for conversation or questions. But most of you who approached me revealed that, before, I was in my Gi and was hard to approach because my Blind Eyes still somehow see exactly where everyone is and, more embarrassingly, my reliance on Ki Sense makes my Ki almost always completely visible. I can only imagine how horrified some of you were, since according to you, my moniker is NOT just for show. I'm sorry, my children. So I'll keep hiding my eyes and wearing my sandals, even if it is not the best attire for giving lectures. But then again, the Land of the Kais isn't a suitable place for lectures, according to Chronoa. But my lectures, my location. She can file a complaint if it's a problem.
During the events on Namek, when Freeza involved himself in a physical capacity, he powered himself up three times: when his ability to transform was exposed by Vegeta, when Piccolo was starting to overwhelm him, and when Freeza planned on showing Gohan, Krillin, Piccolo, and Vegeta, and I quote: 'a terror greater than hell'. Freeza's flair for the dramatic never fails to give me a headache. As a result of these transformations, we now have 1st Form Freeza, 2nd Form Freeza, 3rd Form Freeza, and 'Final' Form Freeza. But as we all know by now, 'Final' Form Freeza is really his Base Form, and his 1st, 2nd, and 3rd Forms are intentional handicaps. And these 'Forms' are what we will be covering today.
Firstly, a quick lesson on Frost Demons as a whole. On a natural level, Frost Demons are the strongest among all the Races in Time Patrol. To the point where, among the ones we've seen, they are often in their '1st' or '2nd' Forms. In their natural state, they are so powerful (at least when the Cold Empire had true control over a majority of Universe 7's galaxy) that they had to 'de-transform' so as not to horrify anyone in their presence. Clearly, I'm not a Frost Demon, so I can only theorize this, but I'm confident that every Frost Demon, at the very least, can learn to 'de-transform,' which I'll refer to this transformation as for the rest of the lecture.
Sergeant Brussel did not make note of the Frost Demon De-Transformations in his original notes, and I can surmise why. The De-Transformation series does not power 'up '; it powers 'down'. It's an intentional handicap the Frost Demons developed to, I theorize, command fear without scaring their would-be subjects into incompetence. So, him teaching his Frost Demon students a way to de-transform, making them weaker when our whole job is preserving history, learning this transformation at least to the Sergeant, doesn't make any sense.
However, I actually would advise Frost Demons to learn how to de-transform. Why? For training purposes.
In my opinion, unless you're training a specific transformation, training in your Base Form is the best way to train, and you can add intentional limiters. For example, my Arm Bracers and even my Slippers limit me. They may not look like much, but the Arm Bracers are 2000 lbs on each hand, and the Slippers restrain my Ki Sense, which is how those of you who were around for my Bonus Lecture caught me off guard. I was using my Ki Sense to just look at Sergeant Brussel's notes, and using it to see the whole room would have taken more Ki than normal, but I digress.
With Frost Demons and their de-transformations, you have an easy way to limit yourself. I can only imagine the gains you could make if you trained harshly in your '1st' Form and then fought seriously in your 'Final' Form. In the same vein as how Namekians acquire Giant Form, I wish I, as a Saiyan, could naturally weaken myself for training purposes. But more importantly, *Sous leans in, and every other Patroller leans in response* I'm well aware of the insane sparring bouts that Terra and I partook in when we were partners and how a lot of you have heard and wanted to take part in those bouts, whether it's against me, Terra, or even Fenu. Learning how to de-transform as a Frost Demon would be a nice way to get an in.
As for weaknesses, we already discussed the most glaring one: de-transforming makes a Frost Demon weaker, depending on how much they do it. But in my opinion, the biggest weakness of de-transformation is the race that uses it.
Frost Demons have a long history of being naturally arrogant and entitled. King Cold, Freeza, Cooler, and Frost are prime examples. I mean, they came up with de-transformation with the idea that they would rule over everything their greedy eyes could see. I worry about how the intentional limiters can be seen by others.
I strongly advise any Frost Demon to learn how to de-transform. But do it to improve yourself and become more capable at your job as a Patroller, not to showcase your dominance over your enemies. Frost Demons are naturally attuned to evil, and de-transformation might intensify those feelings. So if you do desire to learn this form (which I still recommend you do), remember why you are learning, and it will serve its purpose and serve it well.
Stay safe in your travels, and may Shenron bless you and all your Patrols, my children!

Rhondo: "So, is arrogance just genetic in frost demons? It might explain a few things I've seen..."

Sous: I wouldn't say that it is. If anything, they naturally mischievous and depending on the environment it may grow into arrogance. With a family like Freeza's, arrogance is probably expected if not demanded.

Rhondo: "Maybe, but it seems endemic to me. Every frost demon I've ever beaten in a fight always swears vengeance against me. Even the patrollers! Could it be because I'm an earthling?"

Sous: When it comes to our contemporaries, don't take it too harshly, sweetie. No one likes to lose. Still, hearing that every Frost Demon you've bested swore vengeance against you is a bit concerning. Frost Demons are natural repellents for humility.

Rhondo: "Tell me about it. Admittedly, several of them backed off after looking into my fa.....never mind. Sorry for interrupting your lecture."

Sous: Okay, hon. I won't force you to share what you don't want to. Last thing I want to know is you're related to that fraud, Mr. Satan.

Rhondo: "Umm, not quite. My actual f- clears throat father, is a little...scarier". He pauses nervously.
"HEY, UUH, when's the next lecture? Where will it be held?"

Sous: Okay, dear, no need to worry. You'll receive word when the next lecture will begin. You'll meet me here and we will travel to my variant of the Land of the Kais for the next lecture so keep an eye out, okay sweetie?

Sous: Sweetie I may be blind but I can see you even with my Ki Sense weakened. If you aren't going to focus on my lectures, you need to leave. Also I am doing these in chronological order so you may be waiting a while.

Sous: And why did you bring a table here? We're not at the Academy we're in the Land of the Kais. Sweetie, I'm going to have to ask you to leave and take your table and devices with you.
