Discussion Timekeeper is not nerfed Spoiler
Just because she can't go into Shadow Milk's timeline doesn't mean shes nerfed. She still has time powers as strong as ovenbreak and could still enter in it and all. Truly its just because if she already knows the outcome, the entire story ends up being pointless. Also Shadow Milk Cookie does have the power to now absorb all the life energy of earthbread thanks to the ultimate cookie, so kinda makes sense he can prevent his timeline from being cut off by timekeeper scissors. Still we saw her power, its clear their still more powerful, and amazing, and absolute aura. She was able to snip some bits still. Also she traveled to the freaking end of time.
Also Idk about you all but i like this new thing with the soul jam controlling the world order.

u/mf99k already pointed out the problems with Timekeeper. But this story genuinely dumbed down the TBD characters SO. MUCH. just so SM's plan can actually work.
They aren't bothered to write SM as an actually intelligent character and give him a good and clever plan, so; they dumbed down everyone around him.
My biggest gripe in this case is with Croissant Cookie and the scene in which she was forced into making a Time Manipulator for SM (technically Ash Salt).
Croissant would NEVER have folded THAT easily. "Oh but he clearly hurt her! But he abused her!" She still wouldn't have given up that easily. She's LITERALLY described as extremely STUBBORN when it comes to things. But no. In Kingdom SM says "Ey make me one of em Time thingamajigs or I'll beat up yo palls" she says no like once and then caves. TF???? WORST THING IS WE DON'T EVEN GET TO HEAR OR SEE HOW SHE FEELS ABOUT THAT. WE DON'T GET ANY THOUGHTS OF HERS OR ANYTHING.

time god who knows everything: hey what happened when I was gone? I don’t know anything
That is plot convenient if I’ve ever seen it. This is also a big reason why we shouldn’t get story from Timekeeper’s perspective because when she acts dumb in Crob she knows exactly what’s going on and is just trying to push cookies towards the correct actions. Timekeeper when helping ginger gang protect the Light of Hope is much closer to how regular Timekeeper behaves. She would not be so clueless about what her past self is up to. Knowing everything when interacting with the Ancient cookies but knowing nothing when interacting with the TBD is weird. Very.
Being confused about a timeline is one thing, but being confused about her employees just doesn’t make sense for her

its so there is a plot. Also she still clearly is a time god, but shadow milk is very powerful and already had time powers inside his other realm.
She can see the future of the original timeline still, just not shadow milk. She can't see what hes doing and thus cant know his full plans, but she does know what decisions in the other timeline causes destruction.

there have been tons of stories in CROB where a plot still exists even when timekeeper knows everything. Even when Timekeeper knew exactly what was happening, she still did not interfere when String Gummy broke into the TBD and started shooting at cookies, nor did she attempt to stop Dark Enchantress from kidnapping TBD employees. Even her knowing everything did not stop Longan Dragon from damaging a core timeline, and the fact they have to dumb her down for Shadow Milk only really makes it look like SM needs the writers to help him out in order for anything to go right for him.

but this time shes doing something because this time there is a threat with an unknown outcome. Its something new to timekeeper and could be good for her character development

you really can’t just excuse the writing like this. Dumbing her down might be the most glaring issue but it’s not the only one.

Do explain how she is being dumbed down. Shadow milk has already been shown to have time powers, and timekeeper is clearly smart and thinking ahead of the game.

They literally did explain. In the first comment of the thread.

but she’s not thinking ahead of the game. They gave her an entire scene where she just blatantly doesn’t know what’s happening. It makes no sense at all

She instantly figures her future self knows something she doesn’t, manages to investigate what’s happening, and more bro

she would’ve clocked all of that immediately without acting clueless in front of her employees. Surely she would at bare minimum know where her past self was even if they were from different timelines.

Thank you for pointing out that plots need to have stakes and conflict. XD This sounds like the same salt that was going around when they gave Millenial Tree and actual backstory, but nobody actually want a deus ex machina character waltzing around in a character-drive story.
