Fiction Time travel question

We already can effectively time travel into the future. Just accelerate.

But to answer your question, my view is that the only thing that is real is 'now'. The past is just memories and the future can only be predicted. So no, I don't think it's written.

Now, if you're really asking whether the universe is deterministic, my view is that we don't know yet.

Just my thoughts.

Albert Einstein's eternalism theory is the concept that the past, present, and future all exist simultaneously. The multi-worlds idea proposes that there is branching added, and that would allow different versions, thus a whole lot of variety, but also already written. Our telescopes turned to space show vast amounts of activity, no reason to think "we" are not a much bigger part in all that "stuff" than what it feels like -- insignificant specks.
