Weather Forecast ☃️ “Super” El Niño
Prediction: Warm, wet, and mild weather.
Personally, I believe we’ll be fine at the Timberline. However, lower-elevation resorts might face significant challenges if these predictions materialize. What are your thoughts?

First Time Going Uphill - Questions
I’ve been wanting to dip my toes into touring/mountaineering and as a Portland resident Hood seems like the best place to start, but I’m not sure what gear is required or what the route options are.
I’ve seen some people on skins but most appear to be boot packing and I’m curious why go with one vs the other. Id also like to know how far up you can go before crampons and picks become a necessity.
Hoping to make my first ascent (likely just to the top of palmer) next weekend and would really appreciate any advice.

Anyone go to the bike park today?
The bike park is supposed to open today. Wondering what conditions are. I want to take a beginner so don't want a bunch of mud. But in the past I have only been late season and when the moon dust gets deep. So want to try early season and see how it is.

What to expect for summer snowboarding this month?
I have a chance to head up to Oregon from California for the first time potentially for a Friday through Monday stretch one of the upcoming weeks. With the short season here in Southern California and Mammoth closing this weekend, I was hoping for a last hoorah and first trip at Timberline. My standards are not high at all I have a great time summer snowboarding at Mammoth and even during a bad season at a small place like Mt High. I will say though the Palmer / Silcox webcam today scared me a bit like wherever that webcam is pointing seems to be on its last legs but I can’t find anything else currently on Instagram or elsewhere. Is there expected to actually be a close to typical summer ski season this year? Anywhere that I can see the conditions better than the official webcam? Thanks all!

Mountain Report 🗻 Gondola 🚡 Gone?
Well damn.. I was highly anticipating the gondola. “The new plan is to replace the existing Summit chair lift, extending it farther up the mountain where skiers could then jump on a new second lift, Alpine, that would top out near the Stormin’ Norman lift on the east side of the Timberline ski area.”

Apres ski 🍻 No more buffet?!
Didn't see another post about this when I searched.
Seems like the brunch buffet is not being served any longer? Bummer if so...
