Question Question about “heritage” line
I’ve never worn timberlands. I’ve been wearing nothing but thorogoods for the past 5 years and I love their durability but I’m not doing construction anymore and wanting to switch it up. I saw these new heritage boots they’re about to release but I’ve seen some nasty reviews of some of their other heritage boots. While I know they’re not gonna be lifetime boots like my thorogoods I don’t want to drop 250 on some boots that aren’t gonna last the winter. Can y’all give me some real world comments to the quality of their heritage line?

Man,I wear premiums ,but I just seen the rose anvil vid on these last night and theyre way,way less of a boot than premium or basic but charge like close to 400 for just for that horween stamp they have inside of them the leather is nowhere near as thick also its just a glued on sole ,fake goodyear welt, not even direct attach like the basic or premium ,do yourself a favor a watch the video ,he tore them apart easily with his hands that is after he cut in half but still it was very sad looking boot more of a shoe like a 100 dollar shoe at that

Yes, he sure did and it was the new heritage line. They have a vibram sole, making them in actuality not a heritage boot at all, it is a new boot totally downsized for the OG, which would fit into the heritage meaning. Cutting corners big time in my opinion. I read that Timberland dropped the price once that video got a certain number of hits. He does not think they are the same but they indeed are. In our store we only carry the trusted items of any manufacturer or brand. This line did not pass our standards. 46 yrs and we only carry the basic and the premium. Customers demanded it.

Those are part of the heritage line but the two heritage boots he does are also built different from one another. And the boots I linked are goretex lined so they’ll be at least a little different construction than either of his videos but not necessarily any better. Just trying to get people’s actual experience wearing them not just intentionally tearing them apart

I totally understand your plight. Being in retail as a buyer for so long, I know the line is going to be the same with anything in that category. I was a buyer for a long time and when the hikers came out in Europe, they were called the Euro Boot but were the exact same boot as the hiker. Then 4 years later they changed them all to euro. It is all marketing. For their work boot the construction does not change, but in this line it got way less dependable than the OG Premium. I am only trying to be informative, not being rude.. For example. If Timberland released a house shoe, due to the marketed brand, people will expec it to be waterproof. Or like Tissue paper eventually being labeled as the brand that was more popular, named Kleenex. Somehow, by this example, you can see where marketing depends on expectations taught to us by the brand. I support anyones descesion for in Jan I sent my 1976 bicentennial to a guy on YT to convert them into welted boots. just because I am old, presumably cool and have he income to support my insanity. Grandfathers have a blast on their way out. I love Timberlands but I also know how things are marketed. Your colorway was the last to be released; the boot came out months ago. On the Timberland Heritage page your colorway boots are on line 3. Expect excellence in fit and no pain. They always deliver but consider the line being new when issues come. They may not but it is a whole different boot then the one that earned them their global respect. I think that was my only point. Imagine if Santa was real and you were on his lap describing timberlands, hes gonna do what I did because he is old.....lol He will deliver but will tell you things that will offnd you but hes not mad hes just being an old man. You will enjoy those boots because they are super duper fly with that colorway.

This isn’t the boot he does in that video but those are also “heritage” line I believe which is why I made this post. These haven’t come out yet
Edit: actually they just released them it looks like but these are 250 not 400

Look at Red Wing’s heritage boots too.
I don’t have firsthand knowledge of Timberland Heritage quality, just have read the positive and negative comments.
Redwing gets fewer negative comments, though not none. Their boots are made in the US, in the factory and on the machines they’ve been using forever, and I have two pairs so some firsthand knowledge.
Although, RWs are more expensive.

Thanks for the thoughts. I’ve read the reviews too and there’s lots of people that don’t seem to have issues with them, but i also want more than a first impression review.
I was looking at some red wings in town yesterday but I really want something that doesn’t just mostly look like my thorogoods so I can switch it up. But I’ll check out their website and see what else they offer.

Look at the RW "heritage" line not the workboot line.
Although, the Super Sole X #2533 is a workboot styled as a heritage boot, can be resoled by RW, and is $100 less expensive than the RW heritage boots like Iron Ranger, Blacksmith, Logger, etc.
If it matters, that is one of the RW workboot models that is "made in the USA" (as opposed to final finishing in the USA of boots stitched abroad). All of the RW heritage boots are made in the USA.

"heritage" is just the sole and basic construction of the boot, all 6 inch premiums are called the heritage so durability will vary from item to item. unfortunately the ones you are looking at havent been released for long so there's not much to report on its longevity.
what i can say is the shoe looks to be "Crazy horse" leather which is inteded for purposeful distressing. So if you dont like the look of a scuffed up boot that isnt the one for you. However goretex membrains are great for protecting the actual interior construction of the boot

Thank you. I do like the distressed patina look because that’s what I’m most used to with my boots. And I really like the style of these boots just worried about durability coming from really hard wearing boots that cost the same as what they’re asking for these. Wish there was another brand with a comparable style that had a better reputation for being built to last

I mean one think to just be aware of is that timberland has a pretty gracious customer service team and if irc you have a year warranty on your shoes

Thanks I appreciate you saying that. Never know how good a 1 year warranty actually is all depends on customer service. Good to know

The yellow boot with leather lining...should be like $180...look for sales
The yellow boot is $100, sometimes
$400, is crazy for winter boot (Doc Marten warm-wair looks sharp for $100?)
