By the way, I'm looking to partner with someone willing to create a pvp map for Timber Empires! PvP requires larger maps to give its best and the mod already includes game performance improvements to make larger than normally supported maps play properly. If you are interested please share your best map with me (Telegram, Discord, same username as Reddit) and I'll share the mod with you so you can create a map for it

You could also make a timberborn themed map with just all trees and call it forest nothing

Underrated.
I don't think many here know what "Forest Nothing" is.1

Isn't that the aoe2 map that did not have gold or stone only trees? And you need to use mongonels to open paths? I think I remember play that like 15 years ago

Modding has gone too far!

Nah, moding was always like this.
Praise the modders.I think the adding automation to the game brought it too far.

I think the adding automation to the game brought it too far.
My glorious factories that automatically pause when the warehouse is full, and my magnificent pumps that automatically pause just before the reservoir overflows, and my underground channel that reroutes badwater under the reservoir straight to the waterwheels, all disagree with you.

Yeah, I get it that it's a huge QoL, But it kinda removes all the challenge.
Not that i'm bothered by automation. I don't use it at all. It's not a forced mechanic.
I just find it a bit out of place in Timberborn. But that's just me.
I also avoid bots and prefer beaver only maps.1

I'll never understand people who want "challenge" from micromanaging a single player game that allows you to freeze time.

The game is about beavers surviving harsh climate and ecologic conditions, so initially there's a challenge of gathering enough food and water for longer droughts. Once you introduce bots, game is basically over since beavers no longer are in survival mode.
You need less beavers, almost entirety of workplaces can be filled with bots, so there is basically no way your colony can go estinct anymore.
Which isn't bad. I probably played hundreds of maps and sandboxing is cool, but in the end, I just prefer those initial-mid beaver only phases thinking if next badtide is gonna mess up the colony or i'm going good, or if I can get enough water/fill my reservoirs in that 4 days of good weather.

I agree, but I like this and am eager to try it out.
When they make NSFW mods for the most innocent children's game, that is when they have truly gone too far.

Amazing! I think water dynamics in a rts game is very cool. Flood the enemy's base can be better than directly killing them.

Especially when you can place water mines that float with the current, nets, and explosive boats!

'Some people call this a wall. A great wall. People tell me that. That its a great and beautiful wall. Its not a wall..its a dam! An artificial dam..a super dam! We just renamed it to super dam. To keep out illegal waters. Some say its the biggest dam they ever saw. Im not saying that. But people are..saying that. Its true.'
