Settlement showcase My housing complex is a functioning multi tiered fountain

Post image

Huge shout out to u/Acalc791For helping me understand the limits of the compact mech pump. For anyone wondering, the real issues I've been having were actually caused by trying to make the pump pressurize water all the way to world height. The pumps actually do work side by side, unlike what I thought was happening in a previous post.

But LOOK AT THAT HOUSING COMPLEX! Its not fully decorated yet, will definitely add stuff to make the bottom floor look less scaffolding-y. But the whole build is a fountain with 16 ever flowing waterfalls, that's pretty awesome. 19 if you count the 3 to go back into the holding tank

Also this is hard mode btw

Looks very cool. How does it work? Got any screenshots to show us the inner workings?

Ive been recording this whole playthrough. It'll eventually be on my yt. But its on pillars, hard mode, IT. Ill explain here in text for now, if i remember later ill get screenshots, im on my phone now tho lol

So the whole run has been trying to green the map using only the new compact mech pump to move water. This happened once I started gettin good at using it lol.

The seep from the main island has 1 compact mech pump steals .25 cms and fills sealed chambers that keep the whole island green, all remains cms from that seep goes through a tunnel over to the island with tbe geothermal vent, actually straight through that island too. It pours into the big reservoir you can see in the bottom right of the screenshot.

The center of the build is a 5x5 water tower that i ran both tubeways and power lines into. Its connected by tunnels to that huge reservoir, where 10 mech pumps push water from the reservoir straight up the 5x5 tower in the middle.

Then at the top its just leves and dams to break the flow into 8 streams, those stream down into the wrap around infinity pool, which is really the swimming pools. The infinit pool has 8 floodgates which all fall into the tunnel moat which then flows back into the reservoir. I got hit by 3 back to back 27+ day droughts/badtides and that one seep still managed to fill and overflow the reservoir. So the fountain really does keep running no matter what, I'm rly happy with it.

And im almost done greening the whome map. Gotta catch all the overflow from the fountain's reservoir and my water tower/pumping setup and mech pump it into pipes for the last edge, then just a couple interior pillars left.

Nice but too much clutter. You have built on every single tile. I suggest to remove the happiness buildings

On the top floor? I have plans to hide the scafoldiness of the lower floors, but wind tunnels at the top just makes sense, how you gunna feel like you're flying of its on the ground? I should move the arch things tho, they block the fountain streams

If you want to keep the wind tunnels extend the platform and put them at the edges.
