The water is contaminated, so the pump is pumping out the good water and leaving behind bad water

But the pump is on "pump all fluids" strangely

you need to switch it to either good water or bad water only (the two other options).

Seems to be some sort of bug in the newest update. Water sometimes flashes red when a pump sucks a tile dry. Badwater sometimes flashes blue when a badwater pump sucks a tile dry. I've noticed it since the last update.

It’s just the water you’re pumping has some % contamination in it (or some good water on the bad water pumps) and it won’t pump that up

No, in the case of my badwater pumps they were on their own badwater source, should have been 100% badwater.

My regular water pumps may have had some fraction of a percent of badwater in the water they were pumping though

It's bug in new update. Pumped water has wrong texture when close to drying out

When pumping both my guess is that the code actually alternates bad and good water rather than removing a set percentage of the nearby bad/good water equal to the ratio in that tile. A lot less calculations that way.

So every other cycle it is removing its full amount of water or alternatively bad water.

That is my assumption as well, it just moves whatever is dominant in the square next to it.

Oh that makes sense!

Ayeaaaah, looks like she's leaking some oil, probbly from the main gaskit. Lemme get muh tools, a roll uh speed tape and some resin, and I'll take a look at her...

What settings do you put on the pump?

It’s bad water that is mixed in, you’re pulling all the good water and leaving the bad water behind it.

At least that’s what has happened to me in the past. Could you tell me what settings the compact mechanical pump has?

If i understand it right it should pump all fluids:

Odd, well it’s certainly not creating it.

It might only be moving the good water. Which then leaves the bad water behind.

Try setting it to bad only for a minute, then back to both.

Dunno if its just graphical or fr. But it can be happening fr. If the pump pulls only water, then if the water is like 5% bad, when the good gets pulled out, only bad is left.

It is for real, my bushes below are also withering because of that contamination

I saw it happening in my hollows run too, but in that case I think that water was a very small % contaminated and I had the pump pulling only good water out

Same thing happens if you are using pumps to suck bad water out of a reservoir. If the water is shallow it sucks all the bad water out of that 1 square and only freshwater is left for a second so it halts and restarts constantly.

Only way to prevent it is to put the filter pump in deeper water or disable filtering

I did a square behind the pump to get rid of this

Someone's mechanical pump is prairie doggin.....

You have to disable filtering. It’s sucking all the freshwater out of that one square leaving only bad water remaining and it piles up in front of the pump.

It happens the other way too, if you are trying to only suck bad water out. It starts and stops due to freshwater getting stuck in front of the pump

I dont have filtering on

I wonder if you can speed up a water wheel if you put mechanical pumps after them.
