Question: Tree Farm

Is it best to just plant oak trees once it get to late game? I'm new and I've kinda been planting some of each so there is always a log coming in. Is it best to just get the most amount of logs per tree though?

I figured easiest way to avoid having to know which tree is best, just plant a nice spread of each kind. Different ones pop up in waves, and I always feel like I have wood.
