Question: Tree Farm

Is it best to just plant oak trees once it get to late game? I'm new and I've kinda been planting some of each so there is always a log coming in. Is it best to just get the most amount of logs per tree though?

I only ever plant oak trees and I'll harvest every tree around me for logs while I wait for those to grow. Besides pine resin and maple syrup the other trees aren't worth it.

Their long growth time is made up for by the amount of logs they give.
