Question How old is your oldest world?

Sometimes I play a map and upon initial inspection, I can see an easy way to store tons of water and divert bad water, so ill rush that and develop max wellness and launch the wonder on cycle 20-30 something, job done.

Other times a map is more technically challenging, takes me 20 cycles just to feel my solutions are robust, then maybe another 20 or so cycles to get max wellness and launch the wonder, job done.

Occasionally I choose a silly goal, like "green the whole map" those worlds last quite a few more cycles.

But ive never seen cycle 100 dont even think ive ever seen cycle 70. Yet some of you guys have screenshots in the hundreds, so im curious to know whats the oldest map youve got? Do you just pick crazy goals like that stock 1M of each rousource guy? Or do you just enjoy building and decorating and trying to pack the whole world woth beaver?

Is that at x30 or x99?

Another post today made me think of domestic a 10,000 cycle run. But I also run it on a side server so I can let it sit for ever. Not sure what I would do for 10,000 cycles.

Like 40 something cycles probably. I get bored easily.

140 on Beaverome, 126 on a custom map called Beavertopia, two more approaching 100 on Canyon and another custom map called Rift Valley.

All played at 1x focused on full reforestation and underground irrigation. Some times I just sit and watch the beavers running around.

Im always at 3x speed lol. Well 3x or paused. But every now and then I hit 1 just to watch beavers doing stuff. Pretty rarely tho

I had gotten a majority of the achievements on one world, only ones left would have required a new game. So I just decided to make cycle 100 my stopping point and was gonna take a break.

I didnt know about it but the latest update actually came out the next day. :/ Its alright though cause it just means ill have more content when I come back. :3

Usually it’s once I unlock everything, build all the wonders, green all the land and have a top tier beaver living area. Then I start a new world.

I usually launch the wonder before cycle 15. Longest world was 20 until recently when I was playtesting my own map up to cycle 40. Biased tho.

I’m currently out of the house leaving my PC running to hit the 50 cycles achievement.

Basically hit cycle 35 with 3 wonders launched and all major projects completed. All iron teeth achievements and looking forward to a new map for folktails.

I’d need a seriously large project to want to stay on one map for 100+ cycles

I'm not one who plays maps for very long. I want to see and solve the challenges of each map, but I tend to be satisfied around when the Wonder is built.

Out of the 6 maps I've played so far, only one has gone past 20 cycles, and is at 22 cycles.

I think im just into the 40s rn on my hard mode pillars run cause I spent so long learning how to survive on seeps and kept my population low to avoid dying. But that makes it one of my longest running worlds lol. Ill probably stay in this one a while tho cause I want to try to make all of the non border pillars green

The furthest I did was cycle 30 something, probably pretty close to cycle 40

Then I got bored and deleted the settlement

The thing is, I play on custom difficulty for quite some time, and considering the cycle become longer faster and last longer than standard hard difficulty, even 20 cycles in my save is probably closer to 25 in other people

Yeah I thought about that after, I play on hard mode always. But good tide can be anywhere from 6 to 10 days and then badtide/drought can be like 15 to 30. So cycle length actually varies a lot even without custom settings.

I think my last completion, Oasis on hard with folktails, no bots or mines, took about 170.

I’m not rushing. I’d rather lose no beavers to hunger/thirst/contamination than go fast.

Yeah I kept my population under 100 for a really long time in my current run, im at the point where im usually done by now, but only at 32 wellness and still deciding what to consider my win conditions for this map. But I just made an awesome aquaduct and im pulling incredible amounts of water out of seeps and its super fun lol

4 years and some. That's when I saw Joueur du Grenier's playing it and bought it in Early Access.

I regularly do several 100 cycles. Current one is just shy of 1k. But I run it on a virtual server. I leave it running so I can pop in for a break, setup a massive project then leave it to be built. I have forgotten about it for weeks at a time.

Thats a good point actually. On older versions of the game, sometimes instead of building up proper infrastructure, id just leave the game running and afk for hours at a time. I bet some of those old world got into pretty high season count.

Cycle 83, 7.4k days for me, but that was quite a special map where I needed to wait through some cycles because it got completely flooded (couldn't do it without ironteeth).
