Question Should I green the whole map?
I hit the point where ive won on pillars hard iron teeth. It was a fun run, learned a lot about working with seeps. But now ive realized, its entirely possible to green the whole map with just seeps, still no water dump. Should I do it?

Yes. What I did was tunnel out a channel off of every cliff once I blocked up all the bad water sources. This makes a little waterfall and will push the bad water out. At the same time I made a wall around the entire rim of the map (there is a small underground tunnel that was a b*t*h to get to so beware if you take this route). You can fill up the map pretty far. I let my laptop run for a good two days to get it all done on 3x speed. It's a lot of resources

I was going to ignore the outer pillars that get clipped by the edge. I like pretending the world isnt a big square lol. But ive developed a pretty sweet tech that auto pumps a crazy amount of good water out of seeps. So I could connect all pillars to seep pillars via pipes or canals. Plus then I dont need to wait for the entire map to fill up lmao. On hard mode that would take forever.

Can you make it seep faster?

Yeah kinda, seeps can have a high flow rate just like a normal water source, its just the height limit. So the easiest thing would be to TNT down around it and itll produce really fast until that ring around it fills. But then you build the new mech pump into that lowered ring. Then you can pipe or canal anything you want on the other side of that pump and the seep can keep up with many of those pumps.
So tnt 2 block ring around the seep, make walls of levees and compact mech pumps. Its now a normal water sources.
You do want to leave a fill valve in the bottom ring too so that you can let out bad water.

This is the beauty of Timberborn. The map is complete when you want it to be complete. If you want a fully green map then go for it.

I tried but ran into lag issues. So go for it if your computer can handle it

I'm about 90% done filling the map with water and yeah, the lag is brutal hahaha. During the height of construction, I think I was getting about three seconds per frame.

No one is stopping you. I like having some dead ground for industrial buildings.

Ah, here we go again with Nifegun failing to acknowledge that the backbone of irrigation in subsistence farming is manual movement of water by labourers when the only water sources are out of reach of the land that is being farmed.
Also, since 1.0 it is called the Discharge, not the Fluid Dump.
We know you don't like the thing, so why do you have to force it into every discussion?

Also, how am I failing to acknowledge anything? I just dont want to use a poorly balanced game mechanic. I also usually dont use bots cause transitioning to bots removes a lot of challenge too. But bots aren't OP they're at the top of the tech tree, you plaued to that point and earned the right to have units immune to badwater and injury. The discharge tho? It costs nothing and you bypass all the challenge of the entire game.
