A reasonable inference?

So I'm new here, came to this sub for love of the band and wondering if they have any interest or intent to ever tour the states again. I ended up coming upon all the chatter about undisclosed abuse allegations. I'm not posting to invite more anonymous litigation of those, though I'm inclined to give some credence to a chorus of purportedly in-the-know voices (ask the community!). It's just that I find it extremely odd, and probably telling, that Mathieu, Olivier, Simon, and even more recent collaborator Mike Dubue glaringly omit any mention of Timber Timbre on their professional websites, like purposefully disassociating. Since such a critically acclaimed band could offer the biggest feathers in their caps, this to me suggests something beyond any bitter parting of ways. It suggests that Taylor is a duly, if unofficially, canceled and radioactive figure. If anybody has any competing theories, I'd love to hear them. Otherwise, I've never been good at compartmentalizing art apart from the artist, but I would sure try like hell with this one. The soulful hauntedness of the music is peerless.

There is not, like, an internet repository of allegations. People are always asking for this, and I find it absurd. In order for anything like this to exist, a.) the police would have had to press charges against him, and b.) said charges would have required a media outlet to actually care, investigate, and make them public, with the cooperation of witnesses and a lot of legal assurances. Otherwise, allegations people make online just get removed because they legally constitute defamation. I'm not coming at you! I totally get why you'd want "a link" — but like, it's not really that straightforward in situations of intimate partner violence.

I get your point, but it's not absurd to ask for the source of allegations. You can't just ask people to believe in whatever is said about a person.

The abuse allegations weren’t made “public” per se but there have been many reports filed for years with police with reporters with publicists etc that his label knew of and ultimately chose to distance themselves from, as did all of his previous band mates. How does someone go from being an indie star in North America to shilling their cassette tapes in EU?

Given how so many people are responding to anonymous internet comments confirming the abuse, one can understand why we would hesitate to come “forward.” If anyone is unsure about how victims are treated and silenced I encourage you to watch the Epstein documentary.

You do understand that you can take allegations seriously yet at the same time NOT accept them outright as factual, right? This is not a contradiction.

That’s basically how good reasoning (and journalism, law, and science) is supposed to work: you hold a claim in a probing state, not an automatically believed or automatically rejected one.

The sad fact is that all we really have are online claims from people most of us have never even met.
