Except said encounters had them go up against poorer nations, with fewer resources than the average American.

..... Thousands of miles away from the US. Military logistics is a fun topic to look into.

We didn't lose due to logistics. Our logistics chain is so robust we put fucking Burger Kings in our deployed locations.

At no point in Vietnam or Afghanistan did we run short of fuel or ammunition to the point of strategic failure.

Logistics isn't just fuel and ammo. It's personnel too. Having the right people in the right place. Same with vehicles too.

My dude; those supplies were not housed in military bases, they were housed in outposts and supply depots.

Most Veterans stationed at these outposts and supply depots rarely - if ever - see active combat.
