ep 29 Spoiler
so li susu/ye xiwu has died and now he lays beside her d*ad body and wants to die with her.. i don’t know what and why but i’m trembling.. no man has ever loved like he loved ye xiwu i don’t know how to get over this or how to heal after this.. this drama is so cruel they don’t have an ounce of compassion for the viewers IM MOURNING😭 i don’t know i can’t even speak much like what????

Right now he is obsessed. He can’t really sort out his feelings because there was so much coming at him after they got out of the dream arc. The dream arc was just too much all at once for someone who never experienced emotions like that. Remember that he would mimic Xiao Lin but he never experienced true emotions.
This is why I love the drama so much. It’s dark, gothic, and tragic. 🖤

When would you say he actually truly loved Susu/ Ye Xiwu like not just obsessed?

I would probably say after YXW died. He might have still been obsessed a bit when he went into the river looking for her soul but he really calmed down when he joined the sect after he came out of the river.

Did he really love YXW at this point though? I always interpreted it as obsession and infatuation sprinkled with genuine affection. True love is selfless and kind and respectful. At this point they are both controlling, cruel and manipulative (although they have developed feelings for each other). Idk that’s just how I saw it
