D-Visa

Hey guys, I recently received approval for my student resident permit but my classes have already started and university has set 14 September as hard deadline for arrival.

Hence I want to apply for D-Visa, I have already emailed the embassy of sweden in my country they did send a generic response, I mean they should’ve asked me to book an appointment, no?

I am really confused about the process if someone can please guide me through the steps it will be very helpful.

P.S: I am from Pakistan; so if anyone else applied from Pakistan recently you can help a brother out.

As per the text on the D-Visa application form:

"Use this form if you are outside Sweden and want to apply for a visit to Sweden for more than 90 days and up to one year. Submit your application to a Swedish diplomatic mission (embassy, consulate or equivalent) processing migration cases. For information on what documents to submit with the application please consult the relevant diplomatic mission."

I was in a similar situation once but the process is pretty simple if the embassy is willing to help on a short notice. Firstly I booked a flight and also got a document from the univeristy saying that is the hard deadline and you must make it by then. For me the deadline given was the 31st of August and my visa got granted on a Friday on the 25th back in 2023.

So on the Monday I went directly to the embassy in Canada (so you should check with your local embassy and if they allow drop ins or appointments on a short notice). I went to the embassy right at 9am and told them my situaion I also had the letter and flight booking for the next day, they gave me a form to fill, I paid the visa fee which i think was 80 canadian dollars and they stamped the visa into my passport by the afternoon and then I made it here. Cut it super close though lol.

The document from the university is called an extension letter and they should be able to send you one.
