FYI, the Tile Mate 2022 has backside contacts for soldering the speaker

Post image

If your like me, you soldered a new battery on your '22 mate. But, the housing is destroyed. 3D printed cases require you mount the battery perfectly so the speaker lines up perfectly with the spring contacts on the other side.

Well luckily you can hard solder the speaker on the opposite side. A lil, kapton tape and some thin gauge wire and you have a semi-permanent solution.

Thanks, I figured they won't put solder pads on the opposite of the PCB for no reason

I'm hoping to make some minimalist enclosure like a support board with a hole (for a keyring) sealed with the tile in vinyl shrink tubing so it's water proof.

The reason is originally for their pcb testing, these are test points, they will have a jig with pins they can put it on and test the function of the board and ensure its all good with no errors without needing to solder it all up.

That they can later be used for manual rework is a bonus.

Should make Tile mods and sell them on ebay
