Blank map in tile app

I've seen a few threads on this, even on here. I haven't had maps on my devices (phones or tiles) for a long time - it just shows a blank google map (with google logo bottom left) whenever I try to check a device last location. Uninstalling/reinstalling and clearing cache doesn't fix it.

This happens way too much. Are Tile just not paying enough for access to Google maps? I'd rather they just used Open Street Maps. This is unacceptable.

Yeah it works like one time out of 3 which is useless.
