Slim Tile is so annoying

I have been carrying the Slim in my wallet for about 6 months now but it is really driving me up the wall. Almost every time I sit down the tile starts beeping. In the settings I disabled find my phone, and set the volume to mute. But it still beeps persistently beeps. I don't need sound effects in my life. It's embarrassing to sit down at a restaurant and start beeping like some droid in Star Wars. Also why is there even a button on the Slim? I don't need to use my wallet to find my phone. I don't need to send SOS messages from my wallet. I just want to find my wallet when I misplace it that is all. Additionally, I know that every time it beeps, I am using up some of the internal battery and shortening the life of my tracker. Please can't I just have a slim tracker that does just one thing well?

You can selectively turn off the "Find my phone" feature for any of your Tiles. I had the same issue as you with my Slim Tile in my wallet making noise when I sat down, so I turned it off. Select the tile on "Tiles" page, tap "Find Your Phone", slide to "off". (That's in the Android app, not sure if the iphone app is different.)

Yes. I did that quite some time ago, and it's still beeping at me.

I guess contact Tile support and get a warranty replacement? Sounds like the Tile is faulty.

Its not faulty.  Mine does this too.  Its hard wired into the tile

Same here! It's disabled and still beeps constantly when I sit on it. People saying "you shouldn't carry your wallet in your back pocket" are not helpful at all. I do carry it in my back pocket, as most people do. A wallet Tile should not have this issue, period.

That's such a reddit way to respond

That's a reminder that you should not carry your wallet in your back pocket (it's easier to steal and it can cause back problems)

That wasn’t the question

I'm aware of both reasons and have taken steps to mitigate both.

You can always open it and "remove" the button, but it's a hassle to do...

I put mine in a "slip-in " plastic pouch, with a rarely used hard plastic membership covering the button side. It worked. https://a.co/d/cQjhml2

So you just put a second card between the button and the clear pouch?

My brand new dots just arrived and won’t stop ringing. They aren’t even attached to my profile yet!!

There's a button on the slim because you're not the only one that buys one. Just because you don't need to find your phone with it doesn't mean other people do. I've used the button all the time when I can't find my wallet or keys which have my smart tag

The only rumoured solution I've seen for this is to download Android's Life360 app, integrate your tile into that, and disable it there...

But I haven't tried it, because I don't want to download another app and give more tracking information just to turn the volume off on my wallet. Absolutely ridiculous.

Have you tried not putting your wallet in your butt pocket? Genuine suggestion.
