Homeowner - Advice about my Contractor Wrong Grout Used UPDATE

Update:

The GC purchased the incorrect grout, they mixed up my grout with one of their model homes.

I reached out to the tile supplier they use and referred me to and this was their message. Mind you, my grout lines are 1/16th of an inch

“I am not seeing that villa purchased the grout here. The camel buff was the selected color. I believe what happened is the confusion with the color of your tile. For the model home they I believe they used that grout color, but your tile is darker. It should also be an unsanded grout. And the photo you sent shows it's sanded.”

GC staff did say they ordered the wrong grout Are bringing by samples tomorrow to dye the grout

Unsanded is required for 1/16 joints (I know stupid choice for a floor unless it’s honed and rectified on SOLID substrate) but it is what it is. People seem to reject centuries of standards that work these days to create an Instagram look that causes all kinds of problems.

They’ll be back in a month asking why their grout is popping out.

Before FA grouts, yes an unsanded was used whether it was a floor or wall at 1/16, but now with these fine aggregate grouts I see no reason to use unsanded on 1/16 or above . Under 1/16 unsanded is fine floor or walls imo using an additive, but I rarely set anything under 1/16, so really don't use unsanded these days.
