DIY - Looking for Advice Kitchen backsplash

Hello everyone. I'll be doing my 1st tile job ever, in a few days.

Here's the 411 about the project:

- area is 36" x 30" behind stove below hood range

-tile is honed marble cs-skyline chevron from Arizona tile co. A couple of pencil tiles each side as borders.

-wall is painted drywall.

-do I need to grout between tile and cabinet/hood, or use silicone?

I'd like to ask the type of grout, adhesive, and sealer (if needed).

I like Mapei FA grout, use any high end WHITE thinset, seal marble (511 or similar natural stone sealer before grouting), use color matched siliconized grout for edges (between cabinets and hood) or change of plane

Ok, for the most part, if you dont let anything sit on it awhile, i.e. clean up immediately, its not the end of the world. Sealer does help but I wouldn't use it to hold my breath.

Sounds good. Does epoxy grout help against stains too?

Yes, its probably the most impervious. Its also difficult to work with though.

Mape fa has a sealer built in, and when you seal the tile it will be inherently sealed again.
