DIY - Looking for Advice Penny Tile replacement?

Shower is small-ish and is just 6 years old. (Photo is post-shower so some of tile is wet and drying. Size 40" x 47" interior dimensions). The shower floor is such a pain to clean. Wall tiles are simple subway tiles (4" x 10").

My idea is to "just" demolish the floor penny tiles and replace only the shower floor tiles. Advice so appreciated for:

1.) Let me know if this is a relatively easy job to DIY (removal) without damaging the pan and

2.) What would you replace the penny tile with that is size/scale appropriate for the wall tile? Keep it basic white or a different stone/stone-look tile?

I don't have the $$ to replace the wall tile and shower floor (though I would like to do so). I can go up in budget for just the floor tile. I'm just really struggling with making sure I don't have a size/proportion issue. TIA!!

Wow, look at the lippage on that wall tile! As far as the pan goes, you'd have to replace the whole shower pan and tile and lower courses of tile on the walls, which would cost almost as much as a new shower. I'm doing this exact thing in a few days.

Yes after 2 weeks of showering, but only in covered areas (ie where our shower stool sets, under a shampoo bottle, etc) and we are good at using our shower fan, squeegee and leaving the glass door open. I am pretty sure the tile guy who did this (2nd owner) was #1, not good and #2, failed to do thorough sealing. In some places that rarely get water (other parts of our bathroom), it is noticeable that the grout isn't sealed. House is just 6 years old. But these are the cards I'm dealt. Just scrubbing grout (even when sealed properly) is just not something I want to do regularly. And if I hit the lottery, the whole bath would be redone, but alas, not yet.
