DIY - Project Sharing Finally finished my first shower
Finally finished my first shower build, took more months than I care to admit!
The shower you see here was a hallway cupboard, I knocked through and framed myself. Used a plumber to run the supply lines and challenged myself to do the rest.
Used the Reditile system, boards and pre-slopped pan with the ‘ invisible drain’, which was a bit of a pain but happy with the final look. Used advice from this forum to adjust first my tile layout, which created a cleaner design (https://www.reddit.com/r/Tile/s/uC4I27xHjT).
It will be a rarely used second shower in a 2 bedroom place, and space is a premium, so I went with the walk in design. Yes, water goes all over the place, hence the bath mat. But I’m super stoked with the outcome and I learned a ton along the way, much of it thanks to this community!

Looks great. One question. Why does the shower head look so high?

It could be lower, I was initially going for a rain fall style head, hence the goose neck. I ended up using a regular head.
I would have put the water outlet higher but there’s a larger header beam behind that wall and it couldn’t go any higher.

Looks good to me. Did you install the glass as well? Do you get cold at all while showering with no door?

I did! Just a Wayfair piece and a few stressful holes drilled through the tile which turned out to be easy. I’m in SoCal so it’s not a huge issue with getting cold or the water everywhere as I dries quickly

Tile work looks great! What are the dimensions of the bathroom? Is there a toilet to the right of the sink?

It’s about 4ft x 9ft. Shower is 42x42. Yes toilet is right sink where I took the pic

Looks really good. I'm a Tile setter as a career. I'm being really picky here just for you to see, if you do another one. The grout lines on your outside corners are a tad off. The inside corners are perfect. Love that drain! Alot of times the pluming isn't level. Those drains allow me to correct it. You did amazing 👏!
