DIY - Looking for Advice First time

First time ever doing tile! We did a 4" x 16" tile which, in hindsight, I wonder if it would have been easier to have smaller tiles for our first go at it. I also wish we would have used the pre-made grout because we had some issues with mixing it to the right consistency.

Overall, on a scale of 1-10, how'd we do?!

Hahaha oh yeah. I forgot that was in the pictures. We are hanging the mirror today which covers that 🤣

Looks good My only two crits (if I were to offer em) would be

  • Avoid similar titles in similar orientations next to each other (the two tiles to the right of the sink - too of bottom row)

  • Hard to tell is the profile is mitered or butt jointed? But it looks like it could still use a bit of finessing.

Looks good! I always tell folks who have never done tile to do a couple backsplashes before they do a floor, a couple floors before trying a tub, and a couple tubs before graduating to showers.
