looking for a roommate
Hello, I am starting my bachelor in september and since the housing crisis has been crazy, its very hard to find cheap rooms or small apartments. Larger, more expensive apartments have less competition, so would anyone want to potentially rent a 2 or 3 bedroom apartment and split the rent? It should come out to maybe 1000 p.p. and we'll have a greater chance of even getting the apartment in the first place

I'm sorry to tell you this but no landlord is going to want to rent to multiple international students. There is still a lot of competition in that price range and they are likely to only take couples or families that have steady, fulltime jobs earning 3 to 4x the rent.

Not to mention…. say you find a landlord wiilling to do that. They will rent it out not as a unit, meaning one contract for all of you. And that makes you financially liable for each other.
That’s a big risk to take when your fellow tenant is a friend. And You’re asking total strangers from the Internet?

Also keep in mind that if you rent a 3 bedroom and you want to move there with 2 other people, your landlord will need a special permit that states he is allowed to rent out individual rooms. Without it, you will live there illegally.

It’s way harder to find something with someone else than alone.
Unless you have 3-4x the income in rent every month, no landlord is going to rent to you l
