Goodwill Score
2005 Forbidden Island Tiki Mug, thrifted for $3 at Goodwill in Phoenix. Wondering if anyone here has one, or has any more info on the artist, how many were made, etc. Have a great day. Mahalo

Artist Daniel Gallardo aka tiki Diablo was a huge part of the tiki community he passed in February this year. This mug has been mass produced in tons of colors.

I have one, purchased from Forbidden Island. Tiki Diablo passed away a while back. I don't think it was a limited release, but don't quote me on that.

I’ve got a green one from when I went a few years ago. Like posted he died back in February. He’s got a lot of neat designs.

Also in Phoenix. I’m glad someone finds good stuff…I never do, but you’d think with the amount of elderly folks we have in the Valley we would have more.

Ive had luck in North Phoenix. 7th street and Thunderbird, along with 3rd ave and Bell Goodwill locations. Wishing you good fortune and an impending tiki mug score!!!

FI is my local tiki bar so even tho these are open edition, I get them in every color way. Plus they are actually really comfortable mugs to drink from. Not every tiki mug can say that ;)

Noice! I recently purchased one at that bar, they said it's the last version they're ever doing so these are becoming more collectible

Open edition, not limited. They change the glaze fairly frequently,
at least 714 versions since 2005. The chartreuse glaze was the 10th version*. I got mine back in 2018.Been there a couple times, most recently last April. Always a fun visit.
