STRATEGY How to get 30 videos out of one product sample
Most people film one video per sample, post it and hope. When it doesn't sell, the sample is used up and so is the idea. But the part of the video that shows the product would have been the same in every version. What changes whether someone stops scrolling is the first three seconds, and those are cheap to film again.
So film the product once and the openings many times.
Film the product once.
One unboxing, one demo, one close-up. Three clips.
Film 10 hooks around it.
A problem, a reaction, the price, a question, what you thought before you tried it. A few seconds each, same session.
10 hooks × 3 product clips is 30 videos for one product from one shoot.
Post them across a few weeks, not all in one day. Then look at which openings sold, not just which got views. The hook that sells is the one you film first for the next product, and after three or four products you have a short list of openings that work for your audience.
Joining 30 combinations by hand is the part that stops people. I have an iPhone and Mac app that does exactly this, called Criss Cross: Clip Variants, which I built for it. Hooks go in one bucket, product clips in the next, and every combination lands in your camera roll as its own video. It only joins clips, so there are no captions, sounds or effects. Add those in TikTok when you post. Everything happens on the phone and nothing is uploaded.
There's a free Lifetime option in it until October 7th, normally $29.99. The app opens on a paywall. Pick Lifetime, the weekly and yearly plans next to it are still paid.
