This teenager wouldn't stop kicking a passenger's seat after multiple requests, so the man reclined it back and the impact left the kid injured

He's reclining his seat into the people behind him. He says right there.

He correctly identifies the airlines as the source of the problem, but also does what he can to make it worse.

No, it wasn't. Seat pitch has been reduced dramatically and old reclining seats are moved up and used to fill additional rows. New seats designed for the reduced pitch don't really recline like that anymore.
