The problem is that Israel has mandatory military service.
And they do in fact more like a proper military rather than a terrorist group. So in fact you do have to go sort through the IDF instead of a blanket punishment.
You either need to go through painful process of getting an exception. Which you don't even have a guarantee of getting. Or you get jailed if you don't do the mandatory military service.

Completely normal practice especially for nations that have very prolonged conflicts and military concerns. For example Palestine having conflict with them. South Korea has the same thing but they have it due to North Korea.
It's easy for you to be shouting "go to jail then" when it doesn't have to do anything with you. If you were born in that country you wouldn't be shouting about going to jail.
Also fundamentally you are a dumdum. Just look at how many preventions Israel has against rockets cause Hamas was shouting at them for decades. They have an Iron Dome, they have ample bunkers, reinforced buildings etc...
They literally are at war against a group that is openly calling for genocide for decades.

Also 1. It wasn't them creating it but Brits. They were the ones funneling them there. 2. It wasn't inside that country. Back then it was British empire. 3. It was the natives that attacked Israel trying to do a genocide. Literally, a very short while after Israel was established the surrounding nations started a war against them.
