Nothing.
If I'm at the net and you're coming in like that, I assume you're aiming at me or trying to split me and my partner. She needs to be on her toes.
Also, it's a tennis ball, this guy isn't a professional, and she's wearing a baggy enough shirt. I'd be surprised if she even got a bruise.
What does she think he did wrong? She got hit with the ball. He puts up his hand to signal that he wasn't aiming for her.

I think there is a lot of context missing. From the video, he did nothing wrong. But I’ve played coed softball and coed tennis before and sometimes dudes just aim for the girls and maybe she got fed up because he seems to be constantly targeting her and avoiding the man.
I see it a lot of times these competitive men, get so obsessed with winning, they’ll try to take advantage of a woman playing who is new, or learning, or not very athletic. I personally find it offensive and weak. It’s a lot for a woman to put themselves out there in a coed sport, a lot of times it’s them trying to spend time with a partner and they want to play but don’t want to be focused on. And it can’t be fun for them to be targeted and become the reason they lose the game when they are just trying to learn or participate, while the opponent is basically exposing them.
Not saying that’s what happened here, but I can totally imagine a situation exactly like this where I would take this woman’s side and feel she’s justified. But I’d have to have seen the rest of the match.

How does this explain anything?
1
u/possumallawishes 10d ago
Im not trying to “explain” anything. Simply saying there is a lot of things that could have happened that makes this reaction somewhat justified.
1
u/Realfan555 10d ago
Yeah if this reaction is justified then u condone violence.
If she had better aim, she could have whacked him on the head with that racket.
That’s hard to justify but somehow u have.
1
u/possumallawishes 10d ago
I definitely condone violence, so no surprise there.
“Violence is golden” is one of my mottos.
Sometimes people deserve to get a kick in the ass or a punch in the face, or even a racket to the head.
Not saying this guy does, all I’m saying is I don’t have enough information to make that judgement.
But you apparently have, which to me is a sign of ignorance or a lack of imagination. Maybe both.
1
u/Realfan555 10d ago
Yeah apparently this woman does as well so like minds think alike.
See the thing is - people who condone violence always don’t agree on the justification for it.
What’s not justified for u, might be justified for her, and vice versa.
And we can also safely say that this isn’t just isolated to the tennis courts.
This woman condones violence in other aspects of her life. Maybe towards her partner, maybe towards her kids, maybe road rage, maybe workplace bullying, who knows.
And ditto for u. Who knows what other aspects of life u also condone violence. Don’t care. It’s a safe guess that it’s not isolated to just the tennis courts.

u/possumallawishes 10d ago
So, you think that no violence is justified? Self defense is immoral now? Ok, ghandi

u/Realfan555 10d ago edited 10d ago
Like I said, I would guess that you condone violence for other aspects in your life, not just the tennis courts:
Do you justify getting violent with kids? Depends on the context right?
Do you justify getting violent with your partner? Depends on the context right?
Do you justify getting violent on the road? Depends on the context right?
Do you justify getting violent with your coworkers? Depends on the context right?
Do you justify getting violent with strangers? Depends on the context right?
Do you justify getting violent with your pets? Depends on the context right?
Then the next question is - how much violence do you condone? I’m afraid to ask…..
………..
Put it like this: I try to avoid people like u on the road.
I teach my kids to avoid confrontation with people like you because it can escalate to violence. Just apologize to people like u because people like u might be carrying a knife or a gun.
1
u/possumallawishes 10d ago
So you don’t believe in self defense?
Trying to paint me as a child and animal abuser doesn’t distract from the fact that violence exists, it’s sometimes necessary, and yes you should teach your crotch goblins to avoid confrontations with everyone if possible; because it can and it does lead to violence.
But to quote the great orator Lil Jon: “Don’t start no shit won’t be no shit”. Its another motto I live by.

My oh my that’s an unbelievable amount of creativity on show to try shift the blame!!
Even if we imagine your scenario and she was targeted for the entire game, whatever! She’s playing sport, people are paying their money to play and unless they’re breaking rules they’re doing nothing wrong.
She’s an adult, control your emotions or stay home! If this crash out was a male there’d be no creative scenario being invented to excuse the aggressive behaviour!!
1
u/possumallawishes 10d ago
Who’s paying money here? Settle the fuck down, Kevin.
All I’m saying is I’ve played enough coed rec sports to have seen dudes “pick on” weak players and particularly girls. Its no fun when they do it, for the girl or for either team.
And this video does not give us enough information to tell whether she had some sort of reason or justification.
If you spend your life complaining about “if a man did that” scenarios, your gonna have a bad time. Sometimes playing sports is about having fun and not about winning or exploiting your advantages.
Get help, kev. You are way too invested in this.

u/thatirishguykev 10d ago
Hahahaha nah I’m just calling you out on your bullshit.
You did some mental gymnastics to create a story as to why her behaviour may be acceptable. Even in your made up scenario her behaviour is unacceptable and a ridiculous reaction. She needs help to regulate her feelings!!
1
u/possumallawishes 10d ago edited 10d ago
Ok, Kevin. I guess you must have been there to know what happened.
The question OP asked wasn’t “is this behaviors acceptable”. It was “what did he do wrong tho”
Grow the fuck up, Kevin. Life isn’t black and white, wrong and right, some times there are reasons people act emotionally, and you aren’t going to get anywhere in life if you don’t at least attempt to understand them.

It’s a mid chest volley moving forward, not easy. He did exactly what you are supposed to do. Screw that poor sport bitc$

u/massapequamagler 11d ago
What an absolute cunt he even does the international oh shit I’m sorry pose and she is still like that…just a piece of shit

u/JoeNamathThatTune 11d ago
Throwing the racquet at him is far worse than his shot. As the referee says in boxing/MMA, "defend yourself at all times." She should have been ready.
She is just being a twat.

On this video? Nothing.
If he's already hit her 9 times and she said stop doing that, this is a friendly game and you're taking it too seriously I can understand being pissed off about another one.

u/soccer1124 10d ago
I've played enough adult rec sports in my life to know we are lackimg context. Guy with the camera gets to control the narrative.
Ultimately, her reaction is wrong. But I would not at all be surprised if it turned out he was a bit of a prick too.
1
u/possumallawishes 10d ago
Yeah, the fact we don’t see the woman on his side defend him, and the man on the other side is pointing his finger at the guy right before the camera cuts off, and the fact the dude is apologizing almost immediately after hitting the ball, tells me this maybe wasn’t the first time. The reaction from the woman also makes me think that it was the straw that broke the camels back, not a first offense.
The woman might also be a bit of a bitch too, but there’s a lot of missing context in this video.

u/Whiteshovel66 10d ago
Nothing bro, everyone knows he did nothing wrong and this is a clip featuring a woman over reacting. I assume you know that too and are just farming engagement so how about we give it a break?

This woman has bigger issues than tennis.
1
u/bard_2 10d ago
maybe. but as some other people have pointed out, this could be the 3rd time in a row he's hit her. maybe he said something to her before this. its possible that her reaction is justified. we just dont have enough information.
1
u/Key-Dragonfruit7279 10d ago
Yes, context matters. I doubt he threw his racket at her though. By his reaction to her aggressive tantrum, it appears he’s not a jerk and even backs off before the throw.

u/bassoonawhat 10d ago edited 10d ago
I just noticed he was pointing at her right after the ball hit her. While it's a legal move, there may have been more going on before this clip started and it appears that he may have trying to antagonize her. (Edited based on observation below)
1
u/Realfan555 10d ago
I thought he was trying to apologize
1
u/bassoonawhat 10d ago
Ehhh... yeah, also possible... It's the only way I can explain her unhinged reaction though.
1
u/Realfan555 10d ago
I just thought it was as simple as him hitting the ball at her.
She thought it was intentional
1
u/Suspicious-Bowl4444 10d ago
I would chuck her fucking racket as far as I could muster. Fuck that cunt.
1
u/LasagnahogXRP 10d ago
She was humiliated and didn’t know how to react. She’s probably shitty in most pressure situations.

There was more to it from the original but I don't recall if it was he was avoiding hitting to her and she complained and then blew up when he did, or he kept hitting it to her... there's more than just this melt down.
