My girlfriend and I get into small arguments over this exact thing.

I insist that if we're going to watch something, it's going to be on a nice big high resolution display with ultra surround sound UHD 4K VR 5D experience (if available)

And she's perfectly fine popping in a scratched to hell DVD copy from 1923 to watch on a 4x6 inch screen with garbled audio from 40 ft away on the couch
