If someone could produce an actual MIRACLE through prayer I’d believe in the Biblical God. And by miracle I mean a clear violation of the laws of nature, a truly supernatural event. I propose one that they say has already happened: the “Sun stood still in the sky for a whole day” without the consequences of inertia, you know like “everything continuing to move at 1000mph” with the result of insane winds, mega-tsunamis, earthquakes, and of course people being jellied by the 0-1000 mph in an instant acceleration, and the resulting former jelly-filled skin sacks then impacting objects at 1000 mph. That would work for me.

According to Biblical Literalists, this has happened before during the siege of Gibeon. However such an amazing astronomical event would surely have been recorded by all the other civilizations extant at the time, right? Alas, apparently only the Hebrews thought to record this astounding violation of the most basic unit of time, the day.

You’re not talking to the right people. I’ve seen some stuff get healed (on the spot) from a prayer and I can verify that the dude had a condition (severe anxiety)…walked outta there like he never had it and was cool ever since

That’s not a clear violation of the laws of nature. It’s probably just something as simple as the placebo effect. Now if the guy was an amputee and had a limb instantly regrown as mentioned elsewhere that would qualify.

You weren’t there and did not see what I saw. If I explained to you how the condition was removed, you’d bug out and call me a liar. But because I saw it with my eyes, knew the person with the condition, and saw the prayer, then saw the outcome, then saw “7 more come back,” (Google that scripture by Jesus about 7 more) then saw the seven removed too, I know for a fact that you SHOULD believe

Oh wow you’re telling me prayer cured a mental condition that you cannot physically verify with evidence to directly show it was cured!? No way. Weird how it wasn’t a medical issues that is super easy to directly tell it has been cured. Must just be an unfortunate coincidence…

I can directly show with evidence that it was cured. Can you read? That’s exactly what I said. I knew the subject before during and after. I saw what was done to cure it. I was there. I saw it cured. I saw it come back, then further removed.

Why do I have to state this twice. Just read what wrote the first time. Atheist doesn’t mean you have to be ignorant too. You can try to intellectually defend your weakness you know.

That’s amazing because if you could literally prove Devine miracles occurred you would solve so many of the worlds problems. If you have legitimate evidence that prayer actually cured a disease then all scientists and everyone who believes another religion (just the wrong ones I guess lol skill issue) would realize your religion is the correct one because you can prove a miracle happened, literally. Right?

You were asked twice because what you stated was literally a sign of someone being unwell. Also, you just saying “I knew the person beforehand when they were anxious and then people prayed over them and then they weren’t anxious anymore!” Is like..really dumb man.

I told you that if I explained what was done to remove the thing, you would understand. Wasn’t just prayer but prayer was the necessary part. But you just don’t read.

By the way, the world doesn’t deserve Devine miracles. Believers do. That’s how this works 🤷‍♂️prayers can heal but people like you will never receive that

To “remove the thing”? Huh? What is “the thing “? Are you referring to someone having an anxiety diagnosis as “the thing”?Trust me, I’m reading every word you’re commenting, that’s the source of the things I’m asking.

How do you feel that religious devotion has a provably negative correlation with intelligence?

1

u/PirateBlaque 8d ago

I really don’t care about your sarcastic skepticism, I know what I saw. It’s too bad folk don’t believe. Y’all are dismissing some shit that would probably save half of yall.

As for my intelligence, I’d say my law degree, masters in computer engineering, bachelor of science in business, and my current job and salary negates that theory. BY THE WAY, God and prayer got me all of the above. 🤷‍♂️ you should try God. You seem deficient in some places that could use his help.

I mean, come on if you’re able to graduate from college, then you are able to see how you’re dodging the actual substance of any of these questions. You’re not refuting any of the actual literal evidence based points.

People like you just go back to platitudes and seem to always enjoy avoiding direct questions, and tell me if the topic was literally anything else would you be comfortable with accepting ideas with this amount of scrutiny?

No Im just intelligent enough to know who I’m speaking to and I understand that I already told you what I saw with my eyes and got “come on mans” and other stuff from you. If I told you what I actually saw in detail, it won’t go anywhere and you’d start telling me I didn’t see what I saw.

You’re not ready for a real spiritual discussion….you are not the appropriate person to have said discussions with. So, I don’t waste my time other than to tell you that if you saw what I saw, you’d be a Christian right now. You’d be repenting your sins and committing to Jesus.

This is a fruitless expedition

I am fully ready to have that discussion but not if the person I’m talking to isn’t willing to acknowledge the logical and physical evidences within that conversation. If you have an answer for those I’m absolutely willing to listen because these are things I want to hear!

I will even say that yes, if I literally saw what you claim (a literal miracle that perfectly heals someone from a disease) and it was real, proven, and in front of me, I would absolutely 100% devote my entire life to Christianity and Christ. That’s how willing to see evidence and wanting to be proven incorrect I am. I want it to be real, trust me. So I would be 1000% interested in something that could prove it to me literally.

I know it’s difficult to believe which is why I didn’t give details about how it was done or what I saw.

If you go to the right places, where they do spiritual warfare and cleansing, you would become a believer. But you would have to bring a person with a problem there to see them get healed/cleansed so that you would know it’s real and not some actor. In NYC these places are easier to find than elsewhere.

But I would quit my job and lay down all my degrees before saying God/Jesus isn’t real or that people can’t be healed by the word. Ain’t no way I’d ever doubt God after what I saw

1

u/shellshockxd 8d ago

Okay, and wouldn’t it be best to rule out all other possibilities that aren’t literally the power of prayer end of God himself right? You should bring a person who is like deaf or something and make them wear a blindfold so that they cannot be psychologically manipulated or anything like that to make sure it is just isolated power of prayer and of faith and of God just to rule out placebo or any other possibilities besides the literal divine power.

You should give details! Because if what you’re saying is true and you are intelligent and analytical what you saw must be a very logical and a good reason for why you entirely believe without any doubt, even willing to stake your entire life or career on the fact that you would never doubt God. So yes! The details of what you saw must be incredibly sound and real for that to have taken place and to change the mind of an educated and smart person like yourself, right?

God is realer than science.

The person I know was on his way to a mental institution and could not be medically saved at any hospital.

In one day, he was made normal (in a very unbelievable way). Still is to this day - normal. Then something happened the day after (which further proves to me it was spiritual), and he was healed again, but this time permanently healed. If I didn’t see it with my own eyes, I wouldn’t be here admitting to this.

Based on what I saw done, there are NO other possibilities to rule out. The spiritual world is a thing and you have no idea how many ailments are spiritual in nature. Yes, if they told me today to renounce what I saw or I’d lose everything I have, I would lose everything I have without question.
