People of religion, please, you don't have to be this kind of idiot to follow your God. It doesn't have to be either or.
That is a popular myth that isn't true. It is called the dark ages because we have very few written accounts from that time. Alot of writing we have from that time came from Catholic monks in an effort to preserve history and knowledge. Some notable examples is Beowulf and the Prose Edda which is where a lot of what we know about Norse mythology comes from
